SBI Stands for State Bank of India and CBO stands for Circle Based Officers. A total of  Circle Based Officers (CBO) vacancies have been released in different offices of SBI across India. The selection will be based on the performance of a candidate in an Online Test and Interview. SBI CBO 2023 Notification Overview

The official notification PDF has been released for the SBI CBO (Circle Based Officers) exam on November 22, 2024. The online registration has started on Nov 21, 2023, and will end on Dec 12, 2023

SBI CBO 2023 Exam Date 

As mentioned in SBI CBO Notification 2023, the online test will be conducted in January 2024. The important dates for SBI CBO 2024 exam are as follows:

SBI CBO Vacancy 2023

State Bank of India has announced 5447 Circle Based Officer vacancies, out of which 5280 are regular vacancies and the remaining 167 are backlog vacancies. Know the detailed vacancies below:

Important Note:

• The positions listed above are tentative and may change depending on the Bank's actual needs.
• The individual will only be able to apply for one State's vacancy. A candidate who applies for one State's opening will not be entitled to apply for any other State's vacancy.
• The applicant's candidacy will be considered solely for openings in the state for which he/ she has applied/ chosen. State-by-state and category-by-category merit lists will be compiled.
• Selected candidates will be placed in the Circle of the State for which they were chosen.
• The selected applicants will not be eligible for inter-circle transfer until they are promoted to SMGS-IV Grade or have served for 12 years, whichever comes first.

SBI CBO Recruitment 2023 – Eligibility Criteria

Educational Criteria

Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Age Limit for SBI Circle Based Officer 2023 (as on 31.10.2023)

Not below 21 years and Not above 30 years as on 31.10.2023 i.e. candidates must have been born not later than 31.10.2023 and not earlier than 01.11.1993 (both days inclusive)

Relaxation in Upper age limit:

1. Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe – 5 Years
2. Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer) – 3 Years
3. Persons With Disabilities (PWD) – PWD (SC/ ST) – 15 Years
– PWD (OBC) – 13 Years
– PWD (Gen/ EWS) – 10 Years

Relevant Work Experience

Minimum 2 years experience (as on 31.10.2023) as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank or any Regional Rural Bank.

SBI CBO Selection Procedure

The selection process consists of Online Written test, Screening, and interviews.

SBI CBO Objective Test (Online) Exam Pattern

Online Written Test: Online written tests will consist of Objective Tests for 120 marks and Descriptive Tests for 50 marks. The Descriptive Test will be administered immediately after the conclusion of the Objective Test and candidates will have to type their Descriptive Test answers on the computer. 

SBI CBO Descriptive Test (Online)- 30 minutes

Penalty for Wrong Answers:
There will no penalty for wrong answers marked in Objective Tests. If a question is left blank, i.e. if no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question as well.

SBI CBO 2023 Application Fee

A total of Rs. 750/- is to be paid by candidates belonging to General Category as the application fee for SBI CBO 2021 exam. The same amount is narrowed down to Rs. 0/- for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD category.

SBI CBO Salary

As per the official notification released by SBI, the candidates who are selected as SBI CBO will have a salary structure of Rs.36000-1490/7-46430-1740/2- 49910-1990/7-63840. The candidates are also eligible for one increment in their basic pay for each completed year of service rendered in the officer cadre in Scheduled Commercial Bank/ Regional Rural Bank as on 01.12.2021. However, the maximum advance increment has been capped at 2 (two), irrespective of the duration of experience gained in previous employment.
