Will the SBI Clerk Exam 2021 be Postponed again?-Get all the details!

Do you have any Bank Account in the SBI Bank? Never mind, if you maintain one, you must be knowing that SBI Clerk is the professional you keep meeting most of the time you visit your State Bank of India (SBI) bank branch for financial queries and assistance. He has to handle daily activities of opening bank accounts, clearing cheques, overseeing NEFT and RTGS transactions, and more.

He is responsible for playing the part of the cashier, and assist station managers and assistant managers with the smooth functioning of the Bank branch. For him, even a small mistake is big in nature, so he has to be accurate.

So, to appoint such professionals, the SBI takes special care by testing the candidates via SBI Clerk Exam.

The 2021 SBI notification declared vacancies for 5,454 posts, out of which, about 5000 vacancies have been announced for regular posts and 237 for Backlog posts. Last Year, the State Bank of India had introduced 8,000 Vacancies.

SBI Clerk Exam 2021 Postponed- SBI Official Notice

As per the official notice, the SBI Exam 2021 was proponed due to the surge in the Covid-19 cases. The official SBI notice reads, “In view of the Covid-19 Pandemic, the Preliminary Examination scheduled to be held in June 2021 has been deferred till further notice.”

The New Exam Date

As per the experts, the new SBI Clerk Exam date is expected to be announced soon, but when the situation becomes conducive to conduct the examination. There are no changes in the SBI Main Exam date. It will be conducted on July 31, 2021.

The candidates should see this postponement as a benefit for many aspirants, who were either job-goers or for those who couldn’t complete the syllabus for any reason. They should take it as a benefit as they have been gifted more time to prepare.

But you should also keep one thing in mind. Last year, the State Bank of India came out first to conduct the Exam in almost the same circumstances. Hence, you should not stop and relax too much and should keep the momentum going. Otherwise, your preparation can be ruined with even little slackness.

The candidates should revise and practice to make the most of this time, assuming the exam will still happen as per schedule, and you should come out fully prepared.

No changes in the Exam Procedure or Pattern

As always, the selection process will consist of an online test (Preliminary & Main exam) and a test of specified opted local language. The Online Preliminary Exam will consist of Objective Tests for 100 marks, to be conducted online. This test would be of 1-hour duration consisting of 3 Sections:

  1. English language
  2. Numerical ability
  3. Reasoning ability

So, there are no changes in it. Candidates need to maintain their speed and accuracy and keep practicing all the important topics from the syllabus and keep testing them via Mock Tests to check their strengths and weaknesses in order to work on them.

Candidates should gear up for the Exam rather than getting disappointed with the postponement. Most of the candidates have got more time to prepare, revise and practice and attempt Mock tests to see in what direction is their preparation going.
