Exam Pattern: Grade A vs Grade B

RBI Grade A (Assistant Manager) exam is primarily designed for candidates with a background in economics, finance, or management. The exam consists of three stages:

  1. Preliminary Exam: This is an online exam consisting of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning.
  2. Main Exam: This includes descriptive tests in General Economics and Financial Markets, English, and Decision Making.
  3. Interview: The final stage where shortlisted candidates face a panel for personal assessment.

RBI Grade B (Officer) exam is slightly more advanced and is meant for candidates who have a deeper understanding of economics, banking, and finance. Its exam pattern includes:

  1. Preliminary Exam: This consists of multiple-choice questions on General Awareness, English, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning.
  2. Main Exam: It consists of three papers: Paper 1 (Economic and Social Issues), Paper 2 (English), and Paper 3 (Finance and Management).
  3. Interview: As with Grade A, shortlisted candidates appear for a personal interview.

While the structure seems similar, the difficulty of the RBI Grade B exam is higher due to the advanced level of questions, especially in the main exam.
