About GATE Exam
The GATE exam is a national-level test that grants admission to Masterβs programs or postgraduate engineering (ME/M.Tech) and research courses at renowned institutes in India, including IITs, NITs, and IIITs. The 2024 edition is organized by IISc Bangalore and is scheduled for the first and second week of February 2024.
Qualifying Disciplines
GATE includes 29 disciplines or papers from 2024. Notably, Environmental Science and Engineering (ES) and Humanities and Social Science (XS) were introduced last year. In the latest addition, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, and Geomatics Engineering were included, bringing the total number of papers to 29.
GATE Registration Details
The date for GATE online registration 2024 is expected to commence tentatively in the 2nd week of September 2023. Eligible candidates, including those in their 3rd year of Bachelor’s degree and graduates, can complete GATE registrations through the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) gateway.
