1.     Understand, clear, and master the basics

Clear your basics first! The first and foremost step to achieve your goal of mastering the QA answers is to clear your basic Maths first. The use of mathematical formulas and concepts is an irreplaceable and indispensible tool to answer the QA answers.

If you are not good at them, work on them, and practice them in everyday scenarios to have a better grasp of them.

Use mnemonics, to try to memorize formulas you have a hard time with. Mnemonics are techniques for remembering anything more easily. For instance, in any right-angled triangle, for any angle:

The sine of the angle the length of the opposite side
                                   the length of the hypotenuse

The cosine of the angle = the length of the adjacent side
                                      the length of the hypotenuse

The tangent of the angle = the length of the opposite side
                                      the length of the adjacent side


This formula is often remembered as, ‘soh cah toa‘. So, you can learn the formulas for sine, cosine, and tangent of an angle with it, by shortening it to: “SOH CAH TOA.”

In “SOH CAH TOA: Sine is the length of the Opposite side over the length of the Hypotenuse. Cosine is the length of the Adjacent over the length of the Hypotenuse. And Tangent is the length of the Opposite side over the length of the Adjacent.

You can also improve your basic math skills by:

Strengthen your basic calculations: Master basic high school math, including multiplication, division, subtraction, simplification techniques, and formulas like Algebra Formulas like (a+b)^3, (a+b)^2. If you have mastered it, test yourself via Mock Test to increase your speed and accuracy.

Don’t forget that, speed and accuracy are a must for this section. Therefore, you should master math tables up to 30 and squares of numbers up to 50, and cubes up to 20. After clearing all basic concepts from all chapters, take a good Mock Test Series to test them.

Dive into previous year’s papers and find out about the frequently asked questions and prepare accordingly. Pay more heed to topics on simplification and approximation, as questions from these chapters often come in the Exam and you can solve them in less time.

Quadratic equations and Data Interpretation are also important topics. Ratio and proportion, SI & CI, Profit and Loss, Partnerships, Percentage, and its application, Time and work, and Average are important topics from the Athematic part.

4.     Practice difficult questions and set your time limit

Practice difficult or high-level questions and watch your speed. This is the advice that every teacher and expert will give you. This may sound odd to a math amateur, but this is a method that helps in developing a habit of achieving not just speed but accuracy. You slowly get used to solving typical questions and feel confident while answering medium and low-level answers quickly.

Also, set your time limit while answering questions. Time management is the most important necessity for RRB PO Exam. You may know the formula or method for solving a particular question, but you have to answer it in a specific time period.
