UPSC CSE Exam Guidelines 2024: All those candidates who are gearing up to take the UPSC CSE Exam 2024 on the day after tomorrow must keep certain things we have discussed here in mind to avoid any last-minute hassles or disqualification. The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2024 will be conducted by UPCS on 16th June 2024. The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Exam 2024 will be held on June 16, 2024. It will take place at multiple centers across India. The UPSC has released admit cards for this exam, with some specific guidelines that must be followed by all the candidates strictly. The exam was originally scheduled for 26th May 2024 but was postponed to 16th June 2024 due to the general elections. UPSC CSE Exam Guidelines 2024

Candidates who want to take the UPSC CSE exam on the day must carefully go through all the UPSC CSE Exam Guidelines 2024, issued by UPSC for the CSE exam. The UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2024 will be conducted on 16th June 2024, at many exam centres around India. The UPSC very recently released the admit cards for the Prelims exam along with some very important UPSC CSE Exam Guidelines that the candidates must abide by. Here are all the most important guidelines that they must keep in mind:

1.     Printout of Admit Card

Candidates must bring a printout of their e-Admit Card to the exam venue. They will not be allowed to take the exam without it. They must also bring a matching Photo ID along with it.

2.     Unclear Admit Card Photos

Candidates must bring a photo ID if their photo in the e-Admit Card is unclear or missing the name or date. They should also bring two passport-sized photos with their name and date for each session. Plus, they must have a signed statement to prove it. All these items are compulsory for appearing in the UPSC CSE.

3.     Error in Admit Card

Candidates should report it to the Commission immediately via email at usesp-upsc@nic.in. if there is any error or discrepancy in the e-Admit Card.

4.     Entry Timing

Candidates should not forget that the entry to the exam venue will close 30 minutes before the exam starts. The time is 09:00 AM for the Forenoon Session (first paper) and 02:00 PM for the Afternoon Session (second paper). The examiners will not allow the latecomers to sit in the exam. As per the UPSC guidelines, the candidates must arrive at the exam centre at least 30 minutes before the actual exam time. The candidates are prohibited from entering the exam centre after the stipulated time.

5.     Exam Venue

Candidates must appear only at the venue specified on their e-Admit Card. Therefore, they must check the venue carefully and it is better they visit it one day before the exam to check the exam location and avoid any confusion on the exam day.

6.     Items Not Allowed or Prohibited

Valuables, mobile phones, smart or digital watches, IT gadgets, books, and bags will not be allowed in the exam venue. So, candidates must manage their arrangements to keep these items outside the exam venue.

7.     Items Allowed

Only the e-admit card, pen, pencil, identity proof, and applicable photographs are allowed in the exam venue. Candidates can bring no other items inside.

8.     Electronic Devices

Candidates must remember that if they are caught possessing mobile phones or other electronic devices, even if switched off, or any other incriminating or criminatory material they will have to face strict disciplinary action. It can also result in possible cancellation of their candidature and they may face legal consequences. So, be careful!

9.     Pen Requirement

Candidates must bring a Black Ball ballpoint pen to complete the OMR Answer Sheets and Attendance List.

10.  Watches

Candidates will only be allowed to wear simple wristwatches. They cannot wear smart-watches or watches with special accessories. They are strictly prohibited as per UPSC guidelines.

11.  Regarding Changes in Name

Candidates who have changed their names legally after matriculation must carry their e-Admit Card for each exam session. They must also bring a government-issued Photo ID. They also need the original Gazette Notification of the name change. These documents are an important requirement for every exam session. They must make sure to have all these documents with them.
