The IBPS PO exam is just around the corner. Lakhs of candidates are geared up to compete to clear one of the most sought-after Bank PO exams in India. The candidates who are preparing for the IBPS PO examination, are well aware of the exam pattern. The IBPS recruits the candidates based on the following process:
IBPS PO Exam is a three-tier process:
The candidates who will qualify for the prelims examination will proceed to the Mains examination, and after qualifying Mains exam will be called for the interview round. It is mandatory to pass each of the Tests to become IBPS PO Clerks.
The main Examination has 2 parts – Objective and Descriptive.
Part 1 Objective Part will have 155 questions divided into 4 sections – Reasoning & Computer Aptitude (45 Questions), General/Banking/Economy Awareness (40 Questions), English Language (35 Questions), and Data Analysis and Interpretation (35 Questions). The Total marks for Objective Test will be 200 and the duration of the Objective Test will be 3 hours with specific timings for each section.
Part 2 will be a Descriptive Paper of 25 marks which will have 2 questions, in which the candidate will be required to write an Essay and a Letter. The time for a Descriptive paper is 30 minutes.
Negative Marking: There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. One-fourth or 0.25 of the marks will be deducted as a penalty on every wrong answer.
Candidates who will qualify for the Mains Exam will be called for the Interview Process. The Interview is of 100 marks. The minimum percentage of marks for qualifying this round is 40%. It becomes 35% for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories.
