So the volume of the cylinder = 3 × (3x)2 × 4x = 108x3 cm3
Difference between the curved surface area and the total surface area = 2π(3x)2 = 54x2 cm2

x3 = 27
x = 3
So the difference between the curved surface area and total surface area = 54 × 32 = 486 cm2
