Important English Topics for SBI English Language

Given below are some of the most important topics of the SBI English language Section:

1.    Reading Comprehension

The questions in the RCs as seen by the previous year’s questions are inference-based. The questions may not be direct questions, but you’ll have to infer from the given passage and choose from one option from one or more conclusions in the given question. However, you need to practice comprehension based on Economy and Social issues to be well-prepared for any unexpected question.

2.    Cloze Test

Questions on Cloze Test are expected to be story-based. Do regular practice questions of new and old patterns.

3.    Fill in the blanks

Fill in the blanks will be double filler-based. Fill in the blanks also test your grammar and vocabulary power. Practice as many questions as you can to understand what sort of questions come in the Exam.

4.    Sentence Improvement

Questions on Sentence Improvement check your understanding of the rules of grammar and the structures of sentences, like subject and verb agreement and more.

5.    Spotting Errors

Spotting Errors questions are mostly based on grammar rules, where you will have to spot grammatical mistakes. A thorough study of the basic grammar rules coupled with regular practice makes solving these questions easy.

6.    Para Jumbles

Questions from Para Jumbles will test you on how you form a correct passage by making the correct sequence of sentences from the jumbles in the question.

7.    Vocabulary

Questions of Vocabulary will simply be based on Synonym/Antonym or Idiom & Phrases. The best way to deal with it is to learn 20 new words from the newspaper every day.
