Have a look and you will definitely find something useful which you can incorporate into your preparation.

PM: Congratulations on your success! Please brief us on when did you start preparing for the competitive exams and how was your preparation journey.

Shubham: Thanks! I started my preparation in December 2019. I appeared in three Government exams till now & cleared two of them. First I gave RBI Assistant but could not clear mains because of general awareness. Then I cleared SBI JA in the first attempt & currently working here for the last 1.5 months. Now i cleared SBI PO in the first attempt itself, even it’s my first PO exam & also got Maharashtra circle which is my first preference.

PM: Which exams did you appear in till date and what were their results?

Shubham: Below are the details:

PM: How did you prepare for the English section?

Shubham: I read newspaper & books. Then solved a lot of quizzes from different sites including PracticeMock. I gave mini mocks of practice mock to improve speed & accuracy. This is the best section for me where I scored maximum marks with high accuracy in every exam.

PM: How did you prepare for the Quantitative Aptitude section?

Shubham: I initially cleared all basic concepts from youtube videos then started practicing DI. Then solved quizzes from different sites. I focus on accuracy more than speed. Because this is the section where we can achieve 100% accuracy.

PM: How did you prepare for the Reasoning section?

Shubham: Initially I cleared all my concepts regarding syllogism, inequality & other miscellaneous problems then I started solving puzzles but used stopwatch every time. I never solved a single puzzle without a stopwatch.

PM: What was your strategy for the General Awareness section?

Shubham: I read the monthly Bolt pdf of oliveboard & solve quizzes from PracticeMock.

PM: What was your overall strategy? Did you follow a study schedule? If yes, please share the details.

Shubham: I did not follow any specific study schedule. All 24 hours of the day were mine. I studied until I got exhausted in a day. I fixed one topic at night & started practising the same topic from the next morning. As the exam got nearer, I gave one mock every day in the morning.

PM: Did you face any hurdle as well? How did you overcome it?

Shubham: I have 16 members in my family & my home is also not too big. Initially, I joined a library but due to corona, I had to study at home. But as my family members were very supportive, they helped me in every possible way.

PM: Did PracticeMock help you in your success? Please elaborate.

Shubham: When one wants to get higher marks in exams then he has two options: oliveboard & PracticeMock. I prefer PracticeMock as oliveboard mocks are really tough & I did not want to get demoralised. PracticeMock helps me to get a margin of 21 marks in SBI PO mains even when exam was tough this year.

PM: What’s your message for the fellow aspirants who are preparing for competitive exams?

Shubham: Study hard until you will get success because everyone has his time to get success & it definitely comes. If you are not working then study for at least 13 -14 hours a day without any excuse. Then only you can crack tougher exams like SBI PO in your first attempt. Otherwise, it takes much time.

You can see how much Shubham has stressed on working hard & solving mock tests. If you are also preparing for competitive exams, ensure that you put in enough efforts and keep taking mock tests to assess whether your preparation is going in the right direction or not. This is all from us in this article.

If you have also cleared any exam, you can write your success story here.
