In today’s success story, we have featured Prajjwal Dhiman who cleared not 1, not 2 but 3 exams in a row. He got success in IBPS PO, IBPS Clerk and RRB Office Assistant. His strategy was all about solving mock tests and analyzing his performance carefully. If you are preparing for any competitive exam, perhaps you can take some insights from his preparation strategy which is below. Read what all he has to say:
PM: Please brief us on when did you start preparing for the competitive exams and how was your preparation journey.
Prajjwal: I started my preparation on 3 July 2018. First I myself prepared for 2 months and gave SBI PO 2018 and got panicked on the first question of unknown no. circular puzzle in the first section. Then I thought it’s better to join some institute so I joined Mahindra coaching institute and prepared for 6-7 months but didn’t give any exam. In 2019 I gave my first proper attempt and again failed miserably but cleared SBI CLERK Prelims only. And in my next attempt, I cleared IBPS PO, IBPS CLERK And RRB OA.
PM: Which exams did you appear in, to date and what were their results?
Prajjwal: When I started preparation my only aim was to give BANKING sector exams. So I only prepared for this and after 2 years I cleared these exams.
PM: How did you prepare for the English section?
Prajjwal: English is one of the problematic subjects for the candidates as in this students are not sure how many attempted questions are right or how many marks will they score in it. In English, I first started reading newspapers to increase my reading skills and started side by side solving questions of PracticeMock “Mini mocks” section and adda247 daily quizzes which proved to be a boon for my preparation.
I prepare vocab daily from newspaper by noting down the important words. And for mains just PM Mocks. As in mains the only need was the good level of questions to practice which is there in PM mocks.

PM: How did you prepare for the Quantitative Aptitude section?
Prajjwal: In Quants First I completed my chapters one by one and then I started giving PM mini mocks, sectional tests and adda 247 daily mocks and after that I gave some pre level exams which highlighted my week portion and then again I revised all the chapters and side by side kept giving PM mocks which led to the path of success.
PM: How did you prepare for the Reasoning section?
Prajjwal: In Reasoning, My mains focus were the puzzles. I first made a list of possible Types of puzzles and downloaded PDFs for the same and started solving them. And side by side I gave quizzes of Adda247 and PM mini mocks on a daily basis for reasoning to cover other chapters like syllogism, coding-decoding, critical reasoning etc.
And in mains, my only source was PM mocks where I can get good quality of questions and they proved beneficial in exams.

PM: What was your overall strategy? Did you follow a study schedule? If yes, please share the details.
Prajjwal: Yes, after disappointed by many prelims exam I started following a strict schedule. Here in north India, this time winter was comparatively colder but still, I used to wake up at 5 and then from 5 to 8 am I used to solve quizzes (2-3 prelims or 1-2 mains) of each subject. Then from 11 to 2 pm mock (mock and analysis of prelims or mock/analysis of mains)
Then from 6 to 9 pm I used to revise Monthly GA PDFs or extra things to study or video lactures to watch. That’s it. That was my 7-9 hour strategy to clear pre and mains.

PM: Did you face any hurdle as well? How did you overcome it?
Prajjwal: Yes, my mains hurdle was to be consistent in preparation, which of course is the problem of many students. For this, I bought a Calender and made standards (like great, good, just ok) for my daily study work. If I do good preparation on one day then at night I mark that day Great, and vice-versa. which provides me with the reality of my efforts done by me in last weeks or months. which ultimately forced me to write “Great” every day on the calendar.

PM: How did PracticeMock help you?
Prajjwal: PM mocks are the best source of good questions and best Mocks for easy to toughest exam levels in the banking industry as per my experience.
Because When I was giving SBI PO prelims it was normal for me. but students outside the centres were like… it is the toughest level exam.
So I prefer PM and also recommend it to new aspirants.
PM: What’s your message for the fellow aspirants who are preparing for competitive exams?
Prajjwal: Just start giving mock.. not next month.. not next week, not next day.
Just now. give a mock. no matter how much is your marks. but just make it your habit to give mocks. that’s it. This is the only way to a faster selection.
So this was Prajjwal’s success story on how he cleared RRB Clerk, IBPS PO & IBPS Clerk. We hope that aspirants of banking and government jobs must have got some takeaways from his strategies.
