So I’ve started this beautiful journey to become a banker just after my graduation. I’ve done B.Tech in Information Technology. I’ve graduated in 2021 and started preparing for bank examinations in mid august. I was newbie at that time and didn’t know how I’m going to make that as many aspirants apply for this but only a few gets selected but one thing I’ve made clear in my mind that – “मैं भेड़-चाल नही चलूंगा”. I made a crisp plan on how I’m gonna hit each section as I didn’t have much time. And PRACTICEMOCK has played such an important role in my preparation that now I’m writing and sharing my preparation journey on PRACTICE MOCK itself! ✨

I’ve cleared IBPS PO, IBPS SO (IT OFFICER), IBPS Clerk, Given NIACL AO Interview and waiting for final result.
English Section Preparation Strategy
So when I started I would say my english was okayish but never studied for competitive exams so didn’t have any idea of where my english stands! So I’ve given a mains mock of it got 13-15 marks (I guess), but that mock has given me a fair idea of how examiner is going to set the paper. Mains is always on the higher level so I’ve always try to hit that first, and if that’s cleared PRE will be become just a cake-walk for me. I’ve started reading THE HINDU (Front, Editorial), in beginning it took me around 15-20 min to read a single article and most of the words are unheard by me. But remember Beginning is always the hardest!. I’ve not done any fancy things like, grammar rules and all. I’ve that basic knowledge of grammar and that was sufficient for me atleast. So if one has no basic concept clearity in english He/She can go for ‘Plinth to Paramount’ book by Neetu Singh Mam (Its bilingual and vastly covers the rules so get through this book 2-3 times, you’ll feel the change). So apart from this reading THE HINDU, I’ve only given mocks and that too from PRACTICEMOCK.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy
I’ve got very less time when I’ve started and I only knew the tables till 11! So started mugging up all this things on daily basis. After 10-15 days I’m ready with my foundation. Done tables upto 25, squares upto 50 and cubes till 25. After this I’ve divided my daily schedule in two parts, In my first part I used to do Miscellaneous section and in my second half I used to do Arithmetic and DI section. Completed my syllabus first from youtube and various online videos. Then downloaded ample of files and practised from that. After completing all this I started giving mocks and analyzed which topic I need to give extra focus on! So it all went like this only – practice, mocks, analysis, practice.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy
I remember my first Clerk level floor based puzzle was solved in 20 minutes. I was devastated and didn’t know how to solve these puzzles. Then I get know about Ankush Lamba Sir, watched his 1000 puzzle series and it gave me fair idea how to solve puzzles and I started ‘brainstorming’ by solving as much questions as I can. Once reasoning was my biggest fear and after giving my hard work It became my most scoring and favourite subject. Given lots and lots of mocks and improved myself on daily basis.
General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy
I’ve kept my GA source limited and relied on multiple revisions. I’ve covered 4 months GA prior to mains examination from Affairs Cloud monthly pdf’s. I was reading about 10-20 pages a day and its doable. Revised many times as Its get easy if you have read it already. But now a days GA asked in banking is dynamic in nature so reading newspaper is an advantage for me.

Yes I’ve followed study schedule but that was not on daily basis, it was based on weekly targets that I’ve to complete. If you are doing 70% of the tasks that you’ve scheduled you are doing great. But try to do all the tasks you’ve assigned for yourself in that particular week! Ups and downs are the only constant. And as soon as you realised it you’ll work smoothly!
