I have started my preparation for competitive exams when I was in the 2nd year of my Bachelors, back in 2019. Initially, I have focused exclusively on RBI Grade B. However, the pattern of RBI Grade B exam conducted in 2021 was revised significantly with enhanced difficulty level of questions in Phase 1. Due to this, I found it difficult to cope with the new pattern and hence failed to clear the exam. From 2021, I have focused my preparation only on the conventional 6 exams of Banking, which are SBI JA and PO, IBPS JA and PO, IBPS RRB Clerk and IBPS RRB PO. Thereafter, with dedicated preparation, I have made it to the mains of many of these examinations. Overall, I have experienced many failures along with successes during my preparation journey.

English Section Preparation Strategy
English has been my strength since my school days. I have learnt it more by its application and less through rote-learnt rules. So, I did not prepare much for this section. However, I did practice countless mocks which enabled me to strengthen my grip over this section. Also, I maintained a note of all important idioms, vocabulary and concepts.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy
Unlike English, Quant has been a struggling ground for me. Since I am not from a Mathematics background, I had to practice a lot to strengthen this section. Also, I had to revise each and every concept of arithmetic frequently. I have also preserved a notebook of such concepts for quick revision.
Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy
Reasoning concepts were quickly absorbed by me. However, I had to practice a lot of mocks to sharpen my efficiency in this section.
General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy
GA is a game-changing and very volatile section these days. It contributes significantly to our scorecard. However, these days GA questions are at times very deep and unpredictable. So, it is necessary to relax and cover as much as is feasible in our capacity. Personally, I cannot retain all minute details and facts surrounding an event. Therefore, I focused more on revision rather than coverage. This enabled me to administer a particular area very strongly.

Frankly I did follow a flexible study schedule and changed it under the needs of the situation. For instance, when an interview was on the horizon, I incorporated interview preparation in my schedule and when a preliminary exam was due, I included Pre Mocks in my preparation. Similarly, I adjusted my schedule in accordance with my performance in each section as well. Thus, I never kept my study schedule rigid and uniform and freely adjusted it as per my requirements.
No game is free of hurdles. Hurdles make a task more challenging and interesting. Although a lot of personal, physical, mental and social hurdles bothered me, I would like to be relevant and strictly confine my discussion to the hurdles from the preparation perspective. Annexation of Quantitative Aptitude in my preparation strength was the biggest hurdle in this account. I have failed plenty of exams solely due to underperformance in this section. So, I had to overcome it through intensive practice. Further, covering current affairs was another hurdle on my way. In fact, I have missed the SBI JA mains cutoff in this dilemma. So, I tried to be more realistic and stick to more revision rather than infinite coverage.
PracticeMock has indeed played a crucial role in my success. Practice Mock’s mock test series are at par with the exam pattern. I have practised the mock tests of Practice Mock intensively during my preparation. Also, the Weekly GA Quizzes of this platform has enabled me to cover and revise current affairs reliably and in less time. Further, the Blog Section of Practice Mock shared important details and kept me motivated by exhibiting articles on exam toppers.
Every aspirant must be committed to the hard work, perseverance and dedication needed to clear any competitive exams. Also, they need to avoid the mistake made by me and reasonably diversify their targets to enable a backup option. Also, during the preparation, one should not undermine the competition at any cost. The competition always has the potential to risk our final selection. Moreover, one needs to reduce their habits of hunting for the best resource or secret mantra, aka short-cut, to success. Most resources available at our disposal would definitely add to our preparation, so we would not be at a loss if we settle down with any of them. Hardwork and smartness have no substitute. Finally, one needs to be flexible about their daily schedule as other factors like health and personal issues may demand greater attention at times. Within these basic premises, we need to run our life, so we can smartly manage them but cannot completely ignore them.
