At first I started my preparation for SSC CGL around January 2021 but later on after knowing about the delays in SSC exam results I shifted towards Banking examination. And around April 2021 I started devoting my whole time for the banking topics and concepts preparation.At first I was having difficulty solving puzzles . There were many times I got stucked in simple puzzles and even after 2- 3 days I was unable to solve these.I was hardly able to solve 3 to 4 pre level puzzles/sitting arrangement in 4- 5 hours.Many times I thought of quitting banking preparation because of puzzles but didn’t quit. I kept practicing and after 2 months my puzzle and sitting arrangement solving time got reduced. In quant section at first I covered all arithmetic topics after that I started solving DIs .Overall I daily used to study about 8 hrs.

Which exams did you appear in till date and what were their results?

During my preparation I at first appeared for SSC CGL pre examination which I qualified and I had also taken its mains and descriptive paper . After that I appeared for RRB PO examination conducted in August . I was disqualified in pre by 7 marks. Later on I appeared for SBI pre which I disqualified by 3 marks. But after that I appeared for IBPS PO and IBPS Clerk and by God’s grace I cracked both the pre exams. I took both the mains examination and qualified IBPS PO in my first attempt and got selected but I missed the clerk mains by 1.25 marks. That’s my whole preparation journey.

English Section Preparation Strategy

As I was an SSC candidate initially so I had covered the grammar by Gopal Verma Sir. But the question pattern of both the examinations are different so I started reading The Hindu editorial for getting a better concept for solving Reading Comprehension. I used to write all the words new to me in my notebook and revise them regularly every day . After that I used to attempt sectional mock for English from PRACTICEMOCK test series.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

I was good at mathematics and I was able to solve questions by assuming x i.e. the basic method which was quite time taking. So for learning some short approach I purchased Rakesh Yadav sir’s maths course and covered all arithmetic portion and made a proper notes. For simplification, quadratic equations I followed other teachers on YouTube. At first I used to practice only the questions which were in my notes after that for increasing speed in arithmetic and other topics I regularly gave Quizzes and sectional test in PRACTICEMOCK.Around September I purchased pdf course for practicing more questions on arithmetic and DATA INTERPRETATION. I used to solve atleast 30 arithmetics and 10 DI daily.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

For Reasoning section I followed Ankush Lamba Sir on youtube. To learn new concepts to solve puzzles and sitting arrangement I watched his 1000 puzzle series which is available freely on unacademy. To improve speed I used to attempt sectional test and quizzes in reasoning daily on practicemock. For solving questions I purchased guidely pdf course and adda puzzle book.

General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

You will not believe but i started preparing General awareness after my IBPS PO pre results. I watched monthly current affairs by Ashish Gautam sir. I covered the 500 + expected questions on current affairs by practice mock and some 6 months capsules. I used to attempt and memorise all qustions in PRACTICEMOCK PO mains test series. This helped me a lot.

Computer Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

I am a B.Tech graduate so I have my computer section very strong. ( However I didn’t need it)

Overall Strategy, Study Schedule & Challenges Faced

Yes ofcourse I followed a proper schedule. And I believe that no-one can crack any examination without following a proper schedule. I used to wake up around 6:00 and after my daily activities I used to read WORD POWER MADE EASY for half an hour daily. For 1.5 hour 7-8:30 am I used to read The Hindu editorial and revise its vocab . After that I practiced reasoning daily for 3 hours starting from 10 a. To 1 pm. Then I practiced quants for 3 hours from 2 to 5 pm. After that from 6 to 8 I used to teach as a home tutor for class 10 students. And in night I was solving quants for two hours and before going to bed I used to revise all the vocabs I learnt in the morning.

Every aspirant faces some sort of problems in the beginning and I think they all have the common problem that is the speed and marks in the mock test. I was getting very low ( 9 out of 40 ) marks in RRB po sectional qaunt test which was quite demotivating. But i kept on practicing and later on I was getting more than average marks in about all sections in practicemock test.

I will not give my complete credit to practicemock because some credit goes to the teachers whom I learnt various topics from. But as I have written in above answers that for mock tests , sectional tests and daily quizzes i was completely dependent on practicemock. This test series i used only for improving my speed. And the more interesting thing about this test series is that it gives you somewhat exam level difficulty pattern.

Message for the Fellow Aspirants

Beleive on yourself because if I can do it you can also. I believe everyone has equal mind . The only thing that makes us different from others is the practice . Practice regularly with a proper routine. Practice is the only key to success.
