Success Story of Pragati Shukla Cleared SBI PO

Please brief us on when did you start preparing for the competitive exams and how was your preparation journey

I graduated(b.com) in the year 2019 November and was looking forward for MBA but suddenly after 2-3 months covid hit us and we all were locked inside our homes with no clue on how to pursue my career further …. after 8-9 months when pandemic had a little ease I started looking for colleges but again in 2-3 months we had to deal with the second wave .. in all this process I wasted my entire year (2020) but then I had to make a choice so i shifted towards government exams especially banking because somewhere I knew banking was a field in which i see myself utilizing my potential up to the best. So I started my serious preparation from 2021 February.

After appearing in all 6 exams and 3 mains I finally understood what mistakes I did and realized that there’s no secret and any another mantra rather than accepting your weakness and working on it. I was the poorest in quants and didn’t prepared for GA. Then in the year 2022 I made a promise to myself that If I won’t Clear any exam this year I will leave my preparation and won’t waste time on this further , this was the biggest motivating factor for me whenever I used to get demotivated I would remind myself that after this year I won’t be preparing so this is my last chance also my family had great expectations from me so it was again the biggest motivating factor but again you can only do your job that is to do hardwork consistently rest is in the hands of almighty if he thinks that you are capable to be in better position he will make you fail in many things so that you become more stronger and be in the position what is meant for you.

How did you prepare for the English section?

For English I did one batch of nimisha Bansal mam and after that I only gave quizzes and mocks .. practicing quizzes and reading newspaper is the only way you can have good command in English. English doesn’t requires hard work it just needs continuous practice and reading that’s it.

How did you prepare for the Quantitative Aptitude section?

Quants was the toughest for me as I had the phobia in practicing quants .. earlier I used to avoid it and think if I can excel in it but after continuous failures I got to see the reality so I did multiple batch from aashish arora sir and then after having good command in basics I shifted towards harshal agarwal’s sir utube mains session. For quants you have to solve atleast 60-70 ques of each topic and then slowly and gradually move towards high level questions .

How did you prepare for the Reasoning section?

So from the very start reasoning was my favorite because of which I used to spend a lot of time in solving puzzles …. initially I did almost around 90-110 pre puzzles from ankush lamba sir which gave me a boost in prelims and then in mains I started practicing from mocks and got to know the elimination technique as in mains you don’t have to attempt each n every question. Generally reasoning is a subject which can ultimately make your score little bit higher in mains.

What was your strategy for the General Awareness section?

As I said in 2021 I completely ignored GA which was the biggest set back for me as I failed miserably in mains. From 2022 January I did GA daily from affairs cloud and followed gaurav garg’s sir top 300 and made self notes of banking awareness video source and before 15 days of mains examination i gave PM FREE GA weekly quizz which ultimately helped me a lot in SBI PO mains.

What was your overall strategy? Did you follow a study schedule? If yes, please share the details

My overall strategy was to work more in weaker areas so that I should score atleast average in those section and give 30% of my time to my strong subjects so that I would score the highest among them. My daily schedule 9 am to 12pm – Quants practice 3pm to 5pm – mock and analysis 6pm to 7pm – paper reading and English quizzes 9pm to 12pm – reasoning practice and daily GA My daily hours of study use to be in between 8-9 Also I changed my schedule accordingly when there were mains and pre exams lined up continuously so during exams my major focus was on giving mocks and its analysis with GA. In those 8-9 hrs I gave 70% of time in mocks and analysis and then 30% in GA revision.

Did you face any hurdle as well? How did you overcome it?

My biggest hurdle was social media. So, in the very beginning i Uninstalled all the social media apps , deactivated my Instagram, Facebook and a year later also Uninstalled whatsapp.
