Nishad More’s Success Story

A small history about my preparation journey : I am a graduate in Mechanical Engineering, passed out in 2019. After passing out, I was recruited as a Design Intern in Dhumal Industries India Pvt. Ltd. through campus placement drive. Meanwhile, I appeared in AFCAT 2019 exam in which I cracked Prelims, without any special or dedicated study. Then I realized that I can make it big in the competitive exams world if I am dedicated to studies full-fledged. So, after working in the company for a year, I opted out of it and started studying extensively for competitive exams from June 2020 onwards. My preparation journey was not smooth. It was filled with Ups and Downs. But it was a beautiful process and I really enjoyed it.

I was an English medium student, so I was actually good in grammar. Hence, only relied on The Hindu Editorial and Vocab sessions of Adda247 on YouTube.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

Cleared basic concepts of all the topics from Adda247, even those topics that were known to me, so that it will be revised comprehensively. Then serially Practiced Topic wise mocks, then Section wise mocks about 2-3 in a week and then full-length mocks from PracticeMock.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

My strategy was simple :

1. Saw the syllabus of exam.

2. Took a topic and cleared its concepts.

3. Practiced its topic wise mocks.

4. After all the topics were completed, practiced section wise mocks.

5. Lastly, full-length tests once or twice in two weeks.

6. But when the exams were near, full-length tests every day.

General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

Extensive approach to everyday current affairs from Adda247. Made own notes of it without being dependent on the PDFs. Revised it everyday so that it does not fade away. Also gave weekly quiz tests. This helped me clear the overall news analysis.

Overall Strategy, Study Schedule & Challenges Faced.

My study schedule was a bit different. For the 1st month, I studied the section that I liked the most i.e. Reasoning. Completed all of its topics and practiced them by giving topic wise mocks. 2nd month, I studied Quantitative Aptitude. Completed all of its topics and practiced them by giving topic wise mocks. After this, My strategy for the day serially :

1. Current affairs (including the revision of previous day).

2. Reasoning Sectional Mocks and its analysis.

3. Quantitative Aptitude Sectional Mocks and its analysis.

4. English Sectional Mocks and its analysis.

On Sundays, Full-length Mock and its analysis.

Practice Current Affairs Topic Wise Quizzes

As far as huddles are concerned my preparation journey was not good at the beginning because of Covid Lockdown. I was not able to study because of the hard times me and my family was going through. So, I accepted the challenge, and worked upon it. I started setting small targets for the day and concentrated on completing them. This made me in regular touch with my work and made me consistent. Eventually, I started setting bigger targets which led me to develop a comprehensive approach on the overall scenario of exams.
