1. Please brief us on when did you start preparing for the competitive exams and how was your preparation journey.
Soon after my graduation in 2023, I started preparing for UPSC, but I realized that this exam demands a few more years to clear it. I thought of taking other examinations to support myself financially and continue preparing for UPSC. I started full-time practice 29 days before the IBPS SO prelims examination(I had my concepts cleared in quant, reasoning, and English as we learned for campus placements).
2. Which exams did you appear in till date and what were their results?
IBPS PO (missed prelims by 0.5 marks), IBPS SO cleared successfully
3. How did you prepare for the English section?
I had a habit of reading The Hindu newspaper and practicing mocks from PracticeMock 1 week prior to the prelims exam.
4. How did you prepare for the Quantitative Aptitude section?
I relied on YouTube for shortcuts and practiced mocks from PracticeMock 1 week prior to the prelims exam, and I used to practice the quant questions as much as possible.
5. How did you prepare for the Reasoning section?
I practiced sectional practice tests and relied on PracticeMock for real-time exam experience by practicing full-length mocks.
6. What was your overall strategy? Did you follow a study schedule? If yes, please share the details.
I used to study 5 to 6 hours on average and I used to focus on particular important topics which are sufficient to qualify for the prelims.
7. Did you face any hurdles as well? How did you overcome it?
I faced some problems with seating arrangements and puzzles and I overcame them with rigorous practice. Also, I used to take more time to solve quant questions, so I thought to solve particular questions first which I practiced more and left other questions. (I ensured that I scored average marks with accuracy which are enough to qualify for the exam)
8. Did PracticeMock help you in your success? Please elaborate.
Yes it helped, I was very consistent with the app and recommended it to one of my friends. I used to calculate my strengths and weaknesses after attempting the full-length mocks in the PracticeMock app.
9. What’s your message for the fellow aspirants who are preparing for competitive exams?
Focus and regular practice are the key to cracking any exam.
