Ayanshu Srivastava’s Success Story
I have started my preparation in June 2022 when RRB Notifications are out. I’m from Maths background so my maths is good from starting I watched classes from YouTube to strengthen my reasoning section my English is average till date. I preferred giving mocks more than studying because mocks are very important for preparation if you complete 10 mocks of a particular exam e.g, IBPS Clerk and analyse it properly then you will go through 300 English, 350 Quant & 350 Reasoning questions and it will also provide you variety. So if your basics of subjects are clear then do only practice, practice and practice.
Which exams did you appear in till date
- RRB CLERK – Failed in Prelims
- RRB PO – Cleared
- IBPS CLERK – Waiting for Final Result
- IBPS PO – Waiting for Final Result
- SBI CLERK – Cleared
- SSC CGL – Waiting for Final Result

Section-wise Preparation Strategy
English Section Preparation Strategy
To be honest I’m not so good in English even Today, but I prepared enough to clear examination. I watched grammar videos from YouTube for error detection, do reading for Passage which is my strong portion & make short notes of vocabulary & writing 10-20 words daily in it.
Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy
My Quant was good from my schooling so I just go through the basics of all the chapters, watch marathon videos of number series & wrong number series & then only gives full mocks & sectional mocks to improve my speed.
Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy
In Reasoning, the miscellaneous portion is easy to learn, I mean you can easily master Blood Relation, Distance & Direction, Syllogism, Inequalities etc. But the main thing is puzzles and seating arrangement so in starting I was not able to solve it but later I slowly learned how to solve it by watching YouTube videos, there’s a video of 100 rules of Puzzle & SA which is really helpful for beginners.
General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy
I started Preparing General Awareness too late so my general awareness was not up to the mark but I read monthly magazines/PDFs of CA by different platforms & attempt quizzes daily/weekly.
Computer Awareness Section Preparation Strategy
For Computer Awareness, I didn’t learned a lot I just follow a PDF of around 50-55 pages then only attempting mocks/quizzes which will help me a lot.
Overall Strategy, Study Schedule & Challenges Faced
I don’t have any fixed schedule but I target to give a full mock everyday especially at the time of prelims and then uses my remaining time to analysing it and learning the topics which I am unable to solve in mocks and other time in reading newspaper articles and current affairs.
To be honest I didn’t face too much hurdle in my preparation but in starting I am getting too low marks in English even not able to clear cutoffs as well but then I identified my strength that is RC section so I tried to give more time on RC and try to avoid too much attempt in Grammar section so I can easily clear sectional cutoff. Also when I was started preparing for CA I was like – Yrr ye kitna jaada hai log kaise padh lete hai but letter learned how to read only important things from this.
How did PracticeMock help you?
Yes, PracticeMock’s Tests helps me a lot in my preparation. So as I told I used to give tests more than watching lectures I give tests on many different platforms & PracticeMock is one of the best among them. It is very exam relevant and their sectional mocks are also really helpful.
Message for the Fellow Aspirants
First thing which I will say to them is those who think it’s not easy to crack exam in first attempt, it is easy if I can crack it at the age of only 20 that too without any coaching then you can also do that with your hard work. For those who are beginner I will say first strengthen your basics then analyse where you’re standing among others (Percentile). Also try to figure out your weakness and try to work on it for example my weakness is Probability & CI in Quant so I watched many videos regarding this & improved it a lot.
