Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts this exam every year to select candidates for the posts of Sub-Inspector (SI) in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). We will tell you everything you need to know about this exam, such as eligibility criteria, exam pattern, syllabus, selection process, and how to apply.

SSC SI and CAPF- Eligibility Criteria:

To apply for the SSC- SI in Delhi Police and CAPFs Recruitment 2023, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Age Limit: You must be between 20 to 25 years of age as on 1st January 2023. However, there are some relaxations for candidates belonging to reserved categories. For details, please refer to the official notification.
  • Educational Qualification: You must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent as on 1st January 2023. For the post of SI in Delhi Police, you must also have a valid driving license for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date of Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT).
  • Nationality: You must be a citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 or a person of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC SI and CAPF- Exam Pattern:

The SSC- SI in Delhi Police and CAPFs Recruitment 2023 consists of two stages: Paper-I and Paper-II. Both papers are objective type and computer-based. There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. The exam pattern is as follows:

Paper-I:

  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Total Marks: 200
  • Number of Questions: 200
  • Sections: General Intelligence and Reasoning (50 questions), General Knowledge and General Awareness (50 questions), Quantitative Aptitude (50 questions), and English Comprehension (50 questions).

Paper-II:

  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Total Marks: 200
  • Number of Questions: 200
  • Section: English Language and Comprehension.

SSC SI and CAPF- Syllabus:

The syllabus for Paper-I covers topics such as analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc., history, geography, polity, economy, current affairs, general science etc., whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, percentage, ratio and proportion, square roots, averages, interest, profit and loss etc., error recognition, filling in the blanks, vocabulary, spellings, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, phrases and idiomatic use of words etc.

The syllabus for Paper-II covers topics such as error recognition, filling in the blanks, vocabulary, spellings, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, sentence completion, phrases and idiomatic use of words, comprehension etc.

SSC SI and CAPF- Selection Process:

The selection process for the SSC- SI in Delhi Police and CAPFs Recruitment 2023 involves the following stages:

  • Paper-I: This is the first stage of the exam. Candidates who qualify this stage will be shortlisted for the Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT).
  • PE&MT: This is a qualifying test that assesses the physical fitness of the candidates. The standards for this test vary according to the gender and category of the candidates. For details, please refer to the official notification.
  • Paper-II: This is the second stage of the exam. Candidates who qualify the PE&MT will be eligible to appear for this stage. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in Paper-I and Paper-II.
  • Medical Examination: This is the final stage of the selection process. Candidates who are selected in the merit list will have to undergo a medical examination to ensure that they are physically and mentally fit for the posts.

SSC SI and CAPF- How to Apply:

To apply for the SSC- SI in Delhi Police and CAPFs Recruitment 2023, you need to follow these steps:

  • Visit the official website of SSC at https://ssc.nic.in/
  • Register yourself by providing your basic details such as name, date of birth, email id etc.
  • Login with your registration number and password.
  • Fill up the online application form by providing your personal, educational and other details.
  • Upload your scanned photograph and signature as per the prescribed specifications.
  • Pay the application fee of Rs. 100/- through online mode using net banking, credit card, debit card or BHIM UPI. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-servicemen and PwD categories are exempted from paying the fee.
  • Submit the application form and take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

SSC SI and CAPF- Important Dates:

The tentative dates for the SSC- SI in Delhi Police and CAPFs Recruitment 2023 are as follows:

  • Starting date of online application: 1st September 2023
  • Last date of online application: 30th September 2023
  • Last date of online fee payment: 2nd October 2023
  • Date of Paper-I: 15th to 18th November 2023
  • Date of Paper-II: To be notified later
