Some important points related to SSC MTS exam pattern for Tier 1 exam are as follows:
- It will be conducted in English, Hindi and 13 regional languages.
- 3 marks will be awarded for each correct response.
- There is no negative marking in Session 1.
- There is an SSC MTS negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Session 2.
- Candidates who are eligible for a scribe will get a maximum time of 60 minutes to complete the paper.
- There will be 90 questions in total from all four sections.
Note: Candidates who qualify for the exam will be selected for their preferred posts. Marks scored in CBT will be normalized as per the norms of SSC if the exam is held in multiple shifts.
SSC MTS Marking Scheme

- Paper 1 consists of 100 questions; each question will carry 1 mark.
- Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Paper 2 is of qualifying nature and will only test candidates’ elementary skills. It will have a maximum mark of 50. Only those who qualify the Paper 1 will be eligible to write Paper 2.
