The quantitative aptitude section in the SSC MTS exam is one of the most time-consuming sections among all the sections. 1. Simplification

Basic Knowledge: Simplification on the other hand means using BODMAS rules in solving arithmetic expressions, whereby BODMAS stands for Brackets, Orders, Division and Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction.
Types of Questions: The SSC can present questions that include fractions, decimals, square roots, percentages and simple arithmetic computations which need proper adherence to the set rules.

2. Number System

Basic Knowledge: This is such as natural numbers whole numbers integers rational numbers and irrational numbers.
Types of Questions: Questions in the exam are always based on LCM, HCF, rules of divisibility and minor operations on these numbers.

3. Percentage

Basic Knowledge: Percentage means to express a number in terms of hundredth or as a part of hundred. The knowledge of percentage is very essential for carrying out a number of calculations.
Types of Questions: It is possible to receive questions on increase/decrease computation, profit and loss, discounts and interpretation of data in percentages.

4. Ratio and Proportion

Basic Knowledge: Ratio is the comparison of two quantity while proportion means that two ratio are alike. These concepts are very crucial when performing most of the addition, subtraction, multiplication or division tasks.
Types of Questions: Most questions can be grouped under direct and inverse proportions, partnership and mixtures.

5. Average

Basic Knowledge: The average is a total of all the quantities and this is divided by the number of the quantities. It can be described as a measure dealing with central tendency in statistics.
Types of Questions: Some of the daily practice questions are means of numbers, mean of combined means and related word problems.

6. Simple and Compound Interest

Basic Knowledge: In simple interest, interest is charged on the principal amount but in compound interest interest is charged both on the principal amount and the interest which has already been charged.
Types of Questions: These may include questions that require one to identify interest, principal, rate or time. It is important to understand formulas and how to apply them when solving various problems.
