How does negative marking work in SSC JE Exam?

Negative marking is a system of deducting marks for incorrect answers in an objective type exam. In SSC JE exam, negative marking is applicable for Paper-I & Paper- II. In case of Paper-I, for every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from the total score and in case of Paper-II, for every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted from the total score. However, there is no negative marking for unattempted questions.

Note: Earlier the negative marking was 0.33 for Paper-I , but as per this notification, it has been revised to 0.25.
