SSC JE Syllabus 2023: All Important Topics to Study for Papers 1 & 2
Understanding vital SSC JE 2023 exam topics is crucial for success. SSC JE (Staff Selection Commission Junior Engineer) exam is a test for those who studied engineering and want to be a Junior Engineer in a government department. The exam has two parts: Paper I and Paper II. Knowing what’s in these papers is super important for doing well in the exam. The Paper 1 has three big parts:

2. General Awareness: This part is all about knowing about the world. This part wants to know what you know about the world around you. What do you know about the place you live in, its history, culture, and and more.
3. General Engineering (Civil Engineering & Structural Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering): This part encompasses engineering basics. In this part, you’ll find questions related to the kind of engineering you studied. For example, if you studied Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, they’ll ask you about that.
For Paper 2, you get to choose a part based on what you studied in engineering:
- Part-A (Civil Engineering & Structural Engineering)
- Part-B (Electrical Engineering)
- Part-C (Mechanical Engineering)
1. If you studied Civil or Structural Engineering, you’ll answer questions about buildings, roads, and other related things.
2. If Electrical Engineering was your focus, you’ll get questions about electricity, machines, and how electrical systems work.
3. And if you focused on Mechanical Engineering, you’ll answer questions about machines, fluids, and other mechanical stuff.
Paper I involves an objective or computer-based test. Within 2 hours, candidates tackle a question paper carrying a total of 200 marks.
This paper comprises 3 fundamental sections:
1. General Intelligence & Reasoning: This section is designed to evaluate candidates’ logical reasoning and analytical abilities. It includes questions of both verbal and non-verbal types, testing their capacity to handle abstract ideas, symbols, relationships, and analytical functions.
2. General Awareness: This segment gauges candidates’ knowledge of the world around them. It assesses their familiarity with current affairs, the application of everyday observations to societal contexts, and their understanding of general awareness topics.
