The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the official notification for the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors (SI) in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASI) in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The notification contains the details of the eligibility criteria, selection process, exam pattern, syllabus, application fee, and important dates. Candidates who are interested and eligible can apply online through the official website of SSC from July 22 2023 to the month of August 2023.
The online computer-based examination will be conducted in two phases: Paper-I in the month of September 2023 and Paper-II’s date will be notified. The candidates who qualify in both the papers will be called for physical standard test (PST), physical endurance test (PET), and medical examination. The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in Paper-I and Paper-II. The candidates who are selected will be appointed as SI or ASI in various departments under the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The total number of vacancies is yet to be released, out of which bifurcations will be there for SI in Delhi Police, SI in CAPFs and ASI in CISF. The candidates who are selected for SI in Delhi Police will be appointed on a pay scale of Level-6 (Rs.35400-112400), and the candidates who are selected for SI in CAPFs and ASI in CISF will be appointed on a pay scale of Level-5 (Rs.29200-92300). The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the notification for the recruitment of Central Police Organization (CPO) posts. The online application process will start from July 22, 2023 and will end in the month of August 2023. Candidates who are interested and eligible can apply online through the official website of SSC.
The SSC CPO application fee is a mandatory charge that candidates have to pay to register for the exam. The fee amount depends on the category and gender of the candidates. The fee can be paid online through various modes such as debit card, credit card, net banking, etc. The fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
To apply for the SSC CPO exam, candidates must fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
Candidates must be citizens of India or belong to Nepal, Bhutan or Tibetan refugees who came to India before January 1, 1962. Candidates of Indian origin who migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Vietnam or Zambia with the intention of permanently settling in India are also eligible.
Candidates must be between 20 and 25 years of age as on August 1, 2023. Age relaxation is applicable for reserved categories as per government rules. Candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1998 and not later than 01.08.2003 to be eligible to apply.
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent on or before the cut- off date; i.e., 15.08.2023. For the post of SI in Delhi Police, candidates must also possess a valid driving license for LMV (motorcycle and car) as on the date of physical endurance and measurement tests.
Candidates must meet the physical standards prescribed by the SSC for height, chest, weight and eyesight. Candidates must also pass the physical endurance and measurement tests conducted by the SSC.

SSC CPO salary is one of the main attractions for candidates who aspire to join the police forces. The SSC CPO salary structure has been revised after the 7th Pay Commission, which has increased the basic pay and allowances for the SSC CPO posts.
The basic pay for SSC CPO SI in Delhi Police and CAPF is Rs. 35,400 and the gross salary is Rs. 47,496. The basic pay for SSC CPO ASI in CISF is Rs. 29,200 and the gross salary is Rs. 40,176. The SSC CPO in-hand salary is calculated by deducting the NPS, CGHS and CGEGIS contributions from the gross salary. The SSC CPO in-hand salary varies according to the city of posting, as the HRA and TA allowances differ for X, Y and Z cities. The SSC CPO in-hand salary ranges from Rs. 33,767 to Rs. 41,231 for SI posts and from Rs. 25,713 to Rs. 33,177 for ASI posts.
