This section is only for candidates who have applied for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer (JSO) and Statistical Investigator Grade-II. It covers topics such as collection and presentation of data, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability theory, sampling theory, statistical inference, analysis of variance, correlation and regression, index numbers and time series analysis. The section has 100 questions, each carrying 2 marks, and a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer.
