SSC CGL Tier-1 2021: Secrets of Scoring full Marks in GI & Reasoning

It is neither easy nor tough to score full marks in the GI & Reasoning section of the upcoming SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam 2021. And if you are dedicated and have a clear-cut strategy for the Exam nobody can stop you from achieving that milestone.

SSC CGL Tier-I exam is an objective exam that will be conducted online. The SSC CGL Tier-I exam encompasses four sections, that inspire 100 questions, with 25 questions in each section that accounts for a total of 200 marks. There is a maximum of 50 marks in each section. While preparing for the Exam, you must keep in mind that there will be a negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer. The time duration of the Tier-1 exam will be 60 minutes.

Previous years’ question papers

You need to Practice Previous years’ question papers at the time of preparation for the SSC CGL Tier-I exam and go for regular Mock Tests. Solve the Practice Sets of last year’s question papers as much as you can. Practice GI and Reasoning questions every day. That should be followed by SSC CGL Tier-1 study material as per the latest syllabus and exam trends.

Don’t ignore Time-consuming Topics

Don’t skip or run away from non-verbal reasoning topics like image assembling and figure-counting, etc. They test your ability to visualize imagination. They may seem time-taking or boring at first, but when you will practice them again and again you will definitely improve upon them. After practicing them properly you will be able to solve them in less time.

Improve your accuracy

Improve your accuracy by practicing topics, like puzzles, figure-based questions, analogy, coding-decoding, series, which are particularly scoring. Begin with them and try to solve tougher questions in less time. With regular practice, you will experience significant improvement and acquire skills to accurately and quickly solve these questions.

Manage your Timing

Whenever you practice the questions from any topic, just try to aim to attempt at least 20 questions in 20 minutes, and that too accurately. Time with accuracy decides your results. So, keep that in mind. Keep a stopwatch to check your timing. And the next time when you repeat this process, match your previous timing with present timing and analyze it accordingly.

Make a Perfect Exam Strategy

Compared with other sections, the Reasoning Section is a high-scoring section that invites easier questions. So, you should first target easy questions, related to images, analogy, odd-one-out, direction sense, and dictionary questions. You will be able to attempt these questions quickly. Only then should you move on to the remaining questions. Don’t forget, if you find any question difficult or need more time to solve it on the actual Exam day, then you should move on to the next one. Don’t invest more time in solving one question. If time permits, then you can come back and solve that question.
