As the start of the preparation for the reasoning section, you should start by analyzing the reasoning syllabus for SSC CGL exam. The syllabus of reasoning consists of analogy, classification, Similarities and differences, Spatial orientation, Problem-solving, Blood Relations, Decision making, etc. The SSC asks questions from the reasoning section to check the logical thinking of the candidates.

Month 1: SSC CGL Reasoning 2 Months Preparation Strategy

This is the first month of the reasoning preparation make sure you have analyzed the syllabus and exam pattern carefully so that you start your preparation for the exam.

  • Foundation and Basics: After analyzing the syllabus, you are advised whenever you pick any topic for study make sure you understand its basics first so that you become able to solve questions about that topic. For example, if you have picked the topic blood relations then you must know about the relations among the family members of 2-3 generations. So that you become able to solve questions easily.
  • Create a Study Plan: Without a study plan, it will be very difficult to cover the whole syllabus of the reasoning section, practice, revision, etc. If you want to prepare for preparing for the exam effectively, you are advised to create your study plan and include practice and revision.
  • Make Notes: Don’t forget to make notes while studying, whenever you study any topics make sure you are writing down the concepts, formulas, and important points related to those topics. This will help you during the last days of the exam and you can revise the topic whenever you want.
  • Solve Topic-wise Tests: The syllabus of reasoning is vast, if you want to score good marks in the exam then you should study each topic individually. For that, you should solve topic-wise tests by which you can test your knowledge of that topic. For example, if you have picked an analogy, so first understand the concept of that, solve at least 25-35 questions from easy to moderate level, and then solve its topic test. This will not only help you in practice but also help you in knowing the types of questions asked in the exam.
  • Focus on Weak Areas: When you covered the whole syllabus of reasoning for SSC CGL then look for the topics in which you are weak and make them strong. Practicing topic-wise tests is the best tool to know your weak areas.

Month 2: SSC CGL Reasoning 2 Months Preparation Strategy

Now you have covered the whole syllabus with some basic understanding and some practice of topic-wise tests. This is the 2nd month of the reasoning preparation for SSC CGL exam. Below we have provided the 2nd month SSC CGL Reasoning Preparation Strategy for 2 Months.

  • Look for Remaining Topics: The first month was mainly to complete the whole syllabus of reasoning with some practice but it is possible that some topics may have been left from the syllabus then try to finish them in the first week of the 2nd month. Make sure that you have covered the whole syllabus.
  • Focus on Most Scoring Topics: Some topics contain high weightage in the exam which are known as most scoring topics. You are advised to keep you more focus on those topics so that you become able to score good marks in the exam.
  • Attempt Full-Length Mock Tests: After covering the whole syllabus and practicing questions on each topic. You should solve the reasoning mock test and complete mock test. A complete mock test will help you to know how much time you are taking to solve the reasoning section. If you are taking much time then you can improve that time by practice.
  • Solve Using Shortcuts and Tricks: Reasoning questions can be solved by using shortcuts and tricks. Whenever you practice the questions try to implement shortcuts or tricks on those questions. This will not only help you to solve the questions easily but also help you to save time and solve questions with accuracy.
  • Practice and Revise as Much as Possible: At last when the exam is very near, it’s time for just practice and revision. You are advised to do not pick any new topics just pick those topics that are weak areas and you have covered in the past. Practice those topics too that are the most scoring ones.
