Month 1: SSC CGL General Awareness Preparation Strategy for 2 Months

It is the initial phase for the general awareness of SSC CGL tier 1 exam preparation. Here we have provided the strategy that you should follow for 1st month.

• Get Familiar with Syllabus: The SSC CGL general awareness section consists of a lot of topics. First, you should get a complete knowledge of the syllabus. The key topics include history, geography, polity, economics, static GK, and current affairs.
• Focus on History and Geography:
  • The history subject of general awareness consists of ancient, medieval, modern, and world history.
  • Go through the complete syllabus for this section and start your preparation accordingly.
  • The geography subject of general awareness consists of physical, Indian, and world geography.
  • You are advised to start your preparation for these subjects from 6th to 12th NCERT books.
• Focus on Polity, Economy, and General Science:
  • For polity focus on the Indian Constitution, fundamental rights, directive principles, and duties.
  • Start your preparation with NCERT Political Science (9th to 12th) books.
  • Learn basic concepts of economics like GDP, inflation, fiscal policy, monetary policy, and banking.

• Focus on Current Affairs and Practice: Focus on current affairs and stay updated with them. For that, you can start reading newspapers, editorials, etc. Focus on national and international news, government schemes, awards, sports, and important events. • Revision and Mock Tests: Revision is very important for such types of sections. Make sure you are making notes whatever you studying for general awareness. Attempting mock tests is the best way to revision.

Month 2: SSC CGL General Awareness Preparation Strategy for 2 Months

In the first month, you have covered at least half the syllabus of the SSC CGL general awareness. Now know what you have to do for 2nd month of the SSC CGL general awareness 2 months preparation strategy.

• Complete Remaining Topics: Go through the syllabus and look for topics if remaining. Complete the remaining topics and take topic-wise tests of those topics too.
• Focus on Speed and Accuracy: The general awareness section should be attempted in 8-10 minutes (as per the experts). So improve your speed and accuracy for this section. This can be achieved by practice under time conditions. You are advised to take mock tests as much as possible.
