SSC CGL 2023- Previous Years’ Cut-offs

As you already know, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam every year to recruit candidates for various posts in the central government. One of the most important aspects of the SSC CGL exam is the cut off marks. As the name suggests, cut off marks are the minimum marks that a candidate needs to score in each tier to qualify for the next stage. Cut off marks are decided by the SSC based on various factors such as the number of vacancies, the number of candidates, the difficulty level of the exam, the reservation policy and the normalization process.

SSC CGL Cut-offs for Different Categories

Cut-off marks are different for each category (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, etc.) and each post (Assistant Audit Officer, Assistant Section Officer, Inspector, etc.). The cut-off marks are also different for each tier. For example, cut-off marks for Tier-I are usually lower than the cut-off marks for Tier-II. And cut-off marks for Tier-III and Tier-IV depend on the post applied for and the skill required.

Importance of SSC CGL Cut-offs

The importance of SSC CGL cut-off marks cannot be overstated. They determine whether a candidate can proceed to the next stage or not. They also indicate the level of competition and the preparation required for the exam. A candidate who scores above the cut off marks has a higher chance of getting selected for the desired post. Therefore, it is essential for every SSC CCL aspirant to be aware of the cut-off marks and plan their preparation accordingly. They should regularly check this space for any updates on the cut-off marks and the result declaration. They should also practice mock tests and previous years’ papers to get an idea of their performance and improvement areas. They should also revise their concepts and formulas thoroughly and manage their time efficiently during the exam.
