SEBI Grade A Syllabus & Exam Pattern 2022

SEBI Grade A Officer Exam comprises three phases that are described in detail below.

  • Phase I: On-line screening examination consisting of two papers of 100 marks each

SEBI Grade A Syllabus for Paper 2 Phase I & Phase II – General Stream

SEBI Grade A Syllabus for Paper 2 will be common for Phase I & Phase II. The questions will be MCQ’s type of 100 marks for General Stream. The topics for SEBI Grade A Paper II Syllabus for the General stream are given below.

A. Commerce & Accountancy

a) Accounting as a financial information system.
b) Accounting Standards with specific reference to Accounting for Depreciation, Inventories, Revenue Recognition, Fixed Assets, Foreign Exchange Transactions, and Investments.
c) Cash Flow Statement, Fund flow statement, Financial statement analysis and Ratio analysis.
d) Accounting for Share Capital Transactions including Bonus Shares, and Right Shares.

SEBI Grade A Syllabus For Phase I & II – Stream Wise

The syllabus for Phase I and Phase II for SEBI Grade A Officer will be common. This paper will be of 100 marks. There will be aggregate cut-off as well as paper wise cut off. SEBI Grade A Syllabus For Phase II – Paper I

Paper 1 is common for all the candidates appearing for the SEBI Grade A Phase II Exam. It will be an English Descriptive Test to test of 100 marks with a total time duration of 60 minutes. It will be a test of writing/drafting skills of the candidates.

English Writing Skill Syllabus

The paper on English assesses the writing skills of the candidates, including expression and understanding of the topic including precis writing/ essay writing/ comprehension.

Interview

The candidates who will be successful in Phase I and Phase II of SEBI Grade A Officer Recruitment will become eligible to appear in the Interview. Candidates equaling 3 times the number of vacancies shall be shortlisted, in order of merit, for Phase III i.e., the Interview. The shortlisted candidates can opt for the interview either in Hindi or English. The weightage of marks obtained in Phase II will be 85%, while marks obtained in the interview shall be given a weightage of 15%.

Thus, the selection will be made on the marks secured in Phase II and Interview for the final selection for the candidates as a SEBI Grade A Officer.
