Descriptive Test (Essay Writing & Letter Writing)

The descriptive test of the State Bank of India (SBI) Probationary Officer (PO) exam is an important part of the selection process. It tests the candidates’ ability to write effectively in English on various topics and formats. The descriptive test consists of two sections: essay writing and letter writing. The candidates have to write an essay and a letter on the given topics in 30 minutes. The total marks for the descriptive test are 50.

The essay writing section aims to assess the candidates’ knowledge, awareness, and analytical skills on various issues related to banking, economy, society, culture, etc. The candidates have to write an essay of about 250 words on one of the three topics given in the question paper. The essay should be well-structured, coherent, and relevant to the topic. The candidates should avoid grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and plagiarism.
