SBI PO Preparation Strategy 2025: The State Bank of India has announced the SBI PO 2025 Notification on its official website to recruit candidates for the Probationary Officer positions. The SBI PO selection process consists of three phases: the Preliminary Exam, the Mains Exam, and the Interview. The SBI PO Preliminary Exam is scheduled to take place on 8th March and 15th March 2025. Additionally, the State Bank of India has implemented some changes to the SBI PO exam pattern. SBI PO Prelims 2025 Exam Pattern

The State Bank Of India has made some changes in the exam pattern in the SBI PO 2025 notification. Previously, there were 30 questions in the English section, 35 in Reasoning, and 35 in Quantitative Aptitude. Now, the exam will consist of 40 questions in the English section, 30 in Reasoning, and 30 in Quantitative Aptitude. As a result, candidates will need to concentrate more on the English section, as they will have to answer 40 questions in just 20 minutes.

SBI PO Prelims 2025 Section-wise Preparation Strategy

English Language (40 Questions, 20 Minutes)

Topics to Focus On:

  • Reading Comprehension
  • Cloze Test
  • Para Jumbles
  • Spotting Errors/Sentence Improvement
  • Fill in the Blanks
  • Vocabulary-based questions (Synonyms, Antonyms)

Preparation Tips

To increase understanding and vocabulary, practice reading newspapers daily which will strengthen your vocabulary.

Focus on grammar rules to identify errors and correct sentences and look at previous year papers to solve all the questions of the English section.

Candidates should solve mock tests of practice papers identify weak areas and work on them which will improve their performance.

Take sectional tests and analyze mistakes to improve accuracy.

Solve at least 10 RC passages weekly which will make it easier for you to solve RC passage questions quickly.

Quantitative Aptitude (30 Questions, 20 Minutes)

Topics to Focus On:

  • Simplification/Approximation
  • Number Series (Missing/Wrong)
  • Quadratic Equations
  • Data Interpretation (Tables, Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Caselets)
  • Arithmetic Problems (Percentages, Profit & Loss, Time & Work, Averages, etc.)

Quant is a numerical-based section, so master the speed calculation techniques (multiplication, division, square, cube).

First start with easy questions like simplification and then move to the tough section and cover all the Quant topics.

Analyze the shortcuts to solve the Quant section questions quickly and remember all the formulas properly so that you can easily solve all the questions in less time.

Reasoning Ability (30 Questions, 20 Minutes)

Topic To Focus On:

  • Puzzles and Seating Arrangements
  • Syllogism
  • Inequalities
  • Blood Relations
  • Direction Sense
  • Alphanumeric Series and Coding-Decoding

Solve puzzles daily to build a logical approach and improve speed.

Understand the basics of logical reasoning topics such as syllogisms and inequalities.

Puzzles are an important topic of the reasoning section so candidates should start with easy puzzles and gradually move towards complex puzzles.

Use diagrams to solve questions on seating arrangement and blood relation. These topics are very easy topics in which all candidates can score.

After understanding all the topics of the reasoning section, candidates should take mock tests and solve previous year’s papers so that they can know your preparation level.
