SBI PO Prelims- Last Minutes Tips for English Section

The SBI PO Prelims is falling on November 20, 2021, leaving you with only 4 days of preparation. It’s important how you utilize this period as any lack of focus in your studies at this point in time may cost you dearly. All the concepts you have learnt and all the practice you have done till now will be at test. This period of 4 days has to be utilized smartly so as to bring out the best of yourself in the actual exam. We have come up with some important last minutes tips for English section. Let’ have a look.

Last Minutes Tips for English Section

  • It’s extremely important to spot the easy questions at this stage so that you can pick & solve them and skip the difficult ones. Not only will this save your time, but it will also help you maximize your score. For eg. Fill in the blanks and synonyms/antonyms are generally considered more difficult than para jumbles and para connectors.
  • Keep in mind all the mistakes you have committed until now. Have a look at them (in the Mock Tests you have solved in the past) and ensure that none of those mistakes gets repeated in the actual exam.
  • It’s okay to be a bit stressed. It helps you to stay focused on your target which is clearing SBI PO Prelims.
  • It’s a must to revise the easy to moderate topics and practice more questions on these topics. The questions from these topics will help you have an edge over others. In the examination hall, attempt vocab based questions like antonym/synonym based questions. Sometimes these questions are in RC as well. Once done, move to grammar based questions like Error detection, Sentence correction, Phrase correction etc.
  • We’re sure you have been taking Mock Tests all this while. From the analysis you get, check out your weak areas and try to find out what’s lacking so that you can improve upon it.
  • Just to quickly remind you of the exam pattern: There will be 30 questions to be solved in 20 minutes with a negative marking of 0.25 mark.
  • Keep taking a Mock Test and a sectional test per day in these 4 days. you can also try these free quizzes in your free time. If this sounds too much to you, please keep in mind that this period is one of the most precious time you have and you need to make the most of it. Taking Mock Tests will help you stay focussed and at the same time, it will tell you how much more efforts you need to put to be in the top percentile.
  • Revise your notes and grammar rules on a daily basis.
  • Last but not least, be prepared for any surprises in the exam. Please keep in mind that any question which is new for you will be new for a majority of other aspirants as well. Any type of question, howsoever new it is, only seeks to check the basic concepts you have learnt all this while. So don’t panic on seeing any new format or question, rather start solving the questions.
