Strategy To Crack SBI PO 2025 Exam Without Coaching

1. SBI PO Preparation for English Language

As you all know, SBI has made some changes to the pattern of the prelims and mains exams. Previously, there were 30 questions worth 30 marks in the English section, but now this has increased to 40 questions for 40 marks, to be completed in 20 minutes. Candidates should follow the strategy outlined below to score well in English.

  • The English language is one of the most scoring sections in the SBI PO exam. It comes as a computer-based test.
  • The questions that come in the Prelims exam are much easier compared to the Mains exam. 
  • First boost your knowledge of basic grammar rules, regular reading practice, and vocabulary skills are needed to score maximum marks in it.
  • Questions are asked from topics like: Reading Comprehension, Cloze test, FIBS, Para jumbled, Grammar (Error identification, Phrase replacement), Word interchange, Match the Clause and Incorrect usage form.
  • Newspaper reading is a must to enhance overall English skills.

2. SBI PO Preparation for Reasoning Aptitude Section

The SBI PO exam format for the Reasoning section has changed. Previously, there were 35 questions worth 35 marks, but now there are 30 questions, each carrying 1 mark, for a total of 30 marks. Candidates will have 20 minutes to complete this section. Candidates need to attempt all the questions within the time limit. By following an effective strategy, they can aim to achieve full marks.

  • The reasoning section is one of the most time-consuming yet scoring sections in the SBI PO exam.
  • Reasoning sections test candidates reasoning abilities with questions from verbal reasoning (logical reasoning) based on critical thinking or analytic reasoning. In it, students have to identify the various components of any given statement. Those students who develop higher logical reasoning abilities score maximum marks in this section.

3. SBI PO Preparation for Quantitative Aptitude

Earlier SBI PO Quant section used to have 35 questions carrying 35 marks but now there will be 30 questions carrying 30 marks each for which 20 minutes will be given to solve. So candidates try to solve all the questions within the time limit. Candidates can follow this strategy and score full marks.

  • Most students find Quants to be the toughest section in the SBI PO Prelims Exam. In the mains exam, it is termed as the Data Analysis & Interpretation section.
  • Candidates first start preparation on this question like Quadratic Equations, Simplification, Data Interpretation, Caselet, and Arithmetic Problems (percentage, profit & loss), etc.
  • Clear mathematical basic concepts and master shortcuts, and formulas and go for regular mock test practice.
  • Focus more on questions on Simplifications, Approximations, Missing and Wrong Number Series, Data Interpretation, Quadratic comparisons, Caselet, and Arithmetic Problems (percentage, profit & loss), etc. Practice regularly to crack the exam. The questions asked will be very logical in nature.
