Apart from a handsome starting salary IBPS also offers good career growth opportunities. Most promotions take place within 2-3 years of regular service. There are two processes set in place to grab a promotional opportunity as an IBPS Clerk.  Normal process – Such a process follows a conventional model of seniority and work experience. You can in this this case a promotion is more of an expected or a compulsion to keep things going.   Merit based process – Most banks also provide promotions if you acquire JAIIB & CAIIB diplomas from Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. An SBI Clerk (Junior Associate) can get promoted up to 3 times: once when they have completed 10 years of service, once more when they have completed 20 years of service, and finally, when they have completed 30 years of service.  JAIIB and CAIIB exams are given by SBI clerks as well.
