SBI Clerk 2021 Important FAQs

  1. Is there any change in this year’s notification when compared with the previous years’ notifications?

    No, there is no major change in the notification when compared to 2020 notification. Exam Pattern, Eligibility Criteria etc. remain the same.

  2. I will get my degree final year results in the month of May 2021. Can I apply?

    Yes! You can apply. It’s clearly mentioned in the notification that those who are in the final year/semester of their Graduation may also apply provisionally subject to the condition that, if provisionally selected, they will have to produce proof of having passed the graduation examination on or before Aug 16, 2021.

  3. Can I fill the form for Chattisgarh if I am from Jharkhand?

    Yes! You can fill the form for other states other than your residential state.

  4. Are SBI junior agricultural associate post is included or not in this recruitment?

    No! Jr Agricultural Associate posts are not included in this notification. This notification is only for Jr. Associates (Customer Support & Sales).

  5. Will there be sectional timing in place for Prelims and Mains?

    Yes! sectional timings are there in place. In Prelims, there are 20 mins each for the 3 sections: English, Numerical Aptitude & Reasoning. And in Mains, General/ Financial Awareness & General English have sectional timing of 35 mins each and Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude will have 45 mins each.

  6. Will the selection of SBI Clerk will be done on state-wise or circle wise basis?

    The selection will be done on a state-wise basis.

  7. Are SBI Jr. Associates (Customer Support & Sales) and SBI Clerk the same profile?

    Yes! They are one and the same.

  8. Is any computer diploma mandatory to apply for these posts?

    No! You don’t require any computer diploma to apply for these posts.

  9. My date of birth is Nov 30, 2000 . Can I apply for the 5000 vacancies of SBI Clerk 2021 Notification?

    Yes! You can apply. Please note that a candidate should not be below 20 years and not above 28 years as on April 01, 2021. In other words, a candidate must have been born not earlier than April 02, 1993 and not later than April 01, 2001 (both days inclusive).

  10. Can I select prelims and mains exam centre in another state irrespective of the state for which I am applying.

    Ans Yes! As per the notification, a candidate may appear in the examination from any notified Centre. However, please be informed that no request for change of examination centre will be entertained.

  11. What is this Test of Specified Opted Local Language? Is it mandatory?

    Those who qualify for selection and produce 10th or 12th standard mark sheet/ certificate evidencing having studied the specified opted local language will not be subjected to any Language test. In the case of others (qualified for selection), specified opted local language test will be conducted after provisional selection but before joining. Candidates not found proficient in specified opted local language would be disqualified.

  12. In few states they have given 2 to 3 languages, so do we need to know all the languages mentioned there?

    No! You need to know at least one language mentioned against a state.

  13. What is the salary of SBI Clerk?

    The Payscale is 17900- 1000/3- 20900- 1230/3- 24590- 1490/4- 30550- 1730/7- 42600- 3270/1- 45930- 1990/1- 47920. The starting Basic Pay is Rs 19900.00 (Rs 17900.00 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates. The salary in hand would be around Rs 33000.

  14. Do these vacancies include recruitment of cashiers and other back-office workers at SBI?

    Yes! You may be posted as a cashier or any similar post.

  15. How will the students be selected without sectional cut-offs in either Prelims or Mains?

    Ans An overall cut-off will be decided and aspirants will be selected accordingly.
    Caveat: We suggest you perform your best in each of the sections and not rely on 1/ 2 sections.

  16. I will be in Mumbai at the time of Prelims & Mains but I want to apply for Bengal. Can I choose the centre as Mumbai for Bengal region?

    Yes! You can choose a different centre other than the region for which you are applying.

  17. If we write the exam in a state other than the native state, will the reservations be applicable?

    Yes! The reservations will still be applicable.

  18. I am working in a private bank but I can’t get the NOC Certificate. Will there be any issue in applying?

    No! Since you ain’t in a government job, there shouldn’t be any issue.

  19. Can I choose sections randomly in SBI Clerk Prelims?

    No! Since there is sectional timing in place, you can’t choose sections at your discretion. The system will automatically change the section once the time ends.

  20. Is there any restriction on the number of attempts in SBI Clerk 2021 Notification?

    No! There is no such restriction while applying for SBI Clerk exam.

  21. Will the marks of SBI Clerk Prelims be considered for the final selection?

    The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase-I) will not be added for the selection and only the aggregate marks obtained in Main Examination (Phase-II) will be considered for preparation of the final merit list.

  22. Q 4 What is the Wait List? Until when will it be valid?

    Wait List of up to 50% of vacancies (State-category wise) will be maintained. Candidates will be released from this waitlist on quarterly basis against non-joining and resignation out of the current batch only, subject to the candidates securing minimum qualifying marks as may be stipulated by the Bank for selection. This Wait List will be valid for a period of one year from the date of declaration of final result.

  23. I have an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) Certificate. Can I apply for SBI Clerk?

    Yes! You can apply, provided that the date of passing the IDD is on or before August 16, 2021.
