Year of Exam | No. of vacancies | No. of applicants | Difficulty level |
Year 2020 | 7870 | 16.6 lakhs | Easy to moderate |
Year 2021 | 5454 | 19 lakhs | Easy-moderate (Prelims) Mains awaited |
As you can see, two co-factors in 2021 have seen noticeable changes. The number of vacancies for 2021 has significantly reduced, and the number of registrations is also high for this year. However, all these registrations are not for SBI Clerk, but we know that most of them are. The cut-off might remain similar in some states, but it’s wise not to fall for the previous year cut-off.
Definitely no less than 100. The aim should be to get good 105-115 attempts this year if you want to crack SBI clerk mains this year. If you feel you are already prepared and start giving some mocks right away for gaining confidence with 100+ attempts.
If you are somebody who needs a little time for full-fledged preparation, then don’t jump directly at mocks aggressively. Instead, take free mocks once or twice a week, which give you an all India rank. And then gradually build up the momentum.
And this is precisely why SBI Clerk 2021 cut-off is expected to go higher than 2020, especially for mains.
It’s better if aspirants use the remaining time for mains very efficiently. The competition is considerably high this year for obvious reasons. But it’s still doable. Consistency can move or break mountains, and it is a proven phenomenon. Just remember prelims was all about the filtration of serious aspirants, and now is the time when the best of best compete. It’s all about how you choose to live for the next one or two months. Because who knows by the next month you will be seen at an SBI branch working in the clerical department.
