Riya Jain’s Success Story

About Riya Jain

I started my competitive exams preparation in June 2019 and this journey was not so easy. I was able to clear prelims but unfortunately failed in every mains. Every failure disappointed me and also there was uncertainty of exams in 2020 but I never lost hope. I analyzed my mistakes and tried to improve them. Every failure made me more strong and made me realize that I can do it and I will do it anyhow and finally I got success in IBPS Clerk-X.

Which exams did you appear in till date?

2019 – I cleared almost every prelims like SBI JA, EPFO Assistant, LIC Assistant, and IBPS clerk except SBI PO, IBPS PO and IBPS SO. I failed in mains exams.

2020 – SBI JA : cleared prelims but missed mains by 5 marks. RBI Assistant : cleared prelims but failed in mains. IBPS Clerk : cleared prelims as well as mains and finally got success.

Section-wise Preparation Strategy

English Section Preparation Strategy

My English section is average. I used to read The Hindu editorial daily and attempt sectional mock which helped me a lot. We should have a daily reading habit. Read anything you get like any editorial or article or newspaper in English.

Quantitative Aptitude Section Preparation Strategy

As I am a science student that’s why my Maths is good. Practice is the only key to success so I practiced a lot from quizzes and mock tests after revising all basic concepts. For mains I mainly focused on DI and arithmetic.

Reasoning Section Preparation Strategy

This is also my strong section. I loved to solve puzzles. Like quant this section also needs lot of practice. I practiced this section from quizzes and mock tests of PracticeMock.

General Awareness Section Preparation Strategy

This section needs so much revision. I used to make notes and revise them. We can’t memorize this section so with revision we can ace this section. I preferred Affairs Cloud monthly and weekly pdf’s and then attempted quizzes from various websites.

Overall Strategy & Study Schedule

My strategy was to focus on weak areas and improve them and then make strong section more strong. I used to attempt full length mocks and sectional quizzes on daily basis because by practicing only you can get success in banking exams. I focused on speed as well as accuracy. After attempting mocks, analyzation is must and we should give equal importance to every section.

Yes, there were some hurdles. The main hurdle was repetitive failure in mains after clearing many prelims but luckily my family and friends supported me so much and always kept me motivated. Also, there was uncertainty of exams in 2020 due to covid-19 but I tried to be patient. After every failure I became more strong and optimist, tried again and again until I got success. Also I have faith in god that he will never let me down and never let my hard work go into vain.
