SSC MTS exam is slated to take place in the month of April 2023 and only a few days are left. This is the crux of the time when you need to be single-handedly focused on the exam and should leave no stone unturned in your preparation. Your preparation should become very straightforward and systematic at this juncture of time. You should not start any new topic now and continue giving one mock test per day but shouldn’t exceed one mock test in a day. The mock test should be properly analyzed focusing on questions which went wrong and a special focus should be on those questions. This will ensure that you will not repeat those mistakes in the actual exam.
The SSC MTS exam is not very difficult but it requires a lot of practice and revision. Here are some tips that can help you prepare well for this exam:
The first step to prepare for any exam is to know what topics are covered and what type of questions are asked. You can check the official website of SSC or refer to some reliable books or online sources for this information. This will help you plan your study schedule accordingly.
The questions asked in the SSC MTS exam are mostly based on basic concepts and facts. Therefore, you should focus on clearing your fundamentals and strengthening your basics. You can use NCERT books or other standard textbooks for this purpose.
One of the best ways to improve your speed and accuracy is to practice mock tests regularly. Mock tests will help you familiarize yourself with the online interface, time management, question types and difficulty level of the actual exam. You can also analyze your performance and identify your strengths and weaknesses after taking mock tests.
Revision is very important for retaining what you have learned. You should revise all the important topics at least once before appearing for the exam. You can make short notes or flashcards for quick revision.
As Paper 2 is a descriptive test, you should work on your writing skills as well. You should practice writing short essays or letters on various topics related to current affairs, social issues or personal experiences. You should also pay attention to grammar, spelling, vocabulary and format while writing.
Last but not least, you should stay positive and confident throughout your preparation journey. Do not get stressed or demotivated by negative thoughts or comments. Believe in yourself and your abilities.
Review the exam pattern and analyze how have you been performing in mock tests. Accordingly, allocate time to different sections as per your strengths and weaknesses as this will be the key to clear cut-offs as well as scoring a really good overall score. There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Session 2 while there will be no negative marking in Session 1. Keep previous year cut-offs in your mind which are given below.

It is important to write down all the formulas and rules in your handwriting. It has scientifically been proven that this helps you retain formulas and rules in your mind. It’s also high time that you revise the concepts of tricky/difficult questions you encountered. Revise your hand-written notes as well.
Last but not the least, stay calm and relaxed on the day before the examination. You have done what you could and staying restless/stressed will not going to improve your performance in the exam. Take a good sleep as well. Keep your admit card & stationery in a waterproof cover. Ensure that you are at your examination centre one hour in advance. This is important for you to settle down at the centre and to meet any emergent situation (for eg. a traffic jam).
