With the date of ECGC PO only a handful of days away, we are sure that your preparation & revision would be going on in full speed. Please remember that these few remaining days are the most important phase of your preparation. And to make the most of this time, we are here with a Revision Plan. This is a special revision plan, in the sense that we are not providing you with a list of the syllabus with dates marked on them. But we are providing you with tips on specific sections & topics so that you can quickly revise and at the same time improve on your skills.
ECGC PO exam is divided into 2 parts: MCQs and Decriptive Paper. There are 5 sections in the MCQs test viz. Reasoning Ability, English Language, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude. The number of questions differ in each of the sections and there is sectional time limit. ECGC PO Exam- How to do the Revision?
A number of aspirants will be competing for the limited & coveted 75 vacancies of ECGC PO. and therefore this Revision Plan becomes very important. Also, the less number of vacancies suggests cut-throat competition. If the paper comes out to be easy-moderate, cut-offs would go very high. It’s for this reason that we are strongly suggesting you to stick to this revision plan and keep evaluating your performance by taking ECGC PO Mock Tests on a continuous basis. After taking mock test, you will also get your All India Rank which would again be a good tool to review your overall performance vis-a-vis other candidates.

Section-wise Revision Tips
Reasoning Ability
- When it comes to reasoning, the most important topic is Puzzles & Seating Arrangement. Whether you like it or not, you have to improve your skills in this topic. Solve 1 Puzzle/ Seating Arrangement in a day. Review your attempts. Check detailed solutions. If you are unable to get the right answers, figure out what are you missing. Also, try to distinguish the easy puzzles from the difficult ones. Generally, the less number of variables a puzzle has, the easy it is but again it depends on the overall information provided. 50 Puzzles/ Seating Arrangement Questions
- When it comes to blood relations, make your own shortcuts. Practise profusely. Start scribbling the family chart on the paper with proper signs & arrows. Remember: these questions are generally easy and you can easily secure their marks by answering them correctly.
- Coding-decoding questions are also considered easy. When doing revision, take a set of coding-decoding questions and try to understand the logic behind the coding. The more you practice, the better you can score.
- Syllogism is often perceived as a difficult topic. But if you remember the rules by heart, it is actually easy. If you practice at least 50 syllogism questions in these 15 days, you will surely be able to answer the questions without picking up your pen.
- Inequalities is considered a moderate-difficult topic by some aspirants. Try solving some 30-40 questions and see how your confidence level comes out to be. Try learning its shortcuts by watching online videos.
- Direction sense is one topic which often includes easy questions. You just need to quickly make relevant diagrams and do the calculations. This way, you can increase your score in this section as well as your overall score.
English Language
- Reading Comprehension holds the most important place in the English language section. We sincerely suggest you to start going through 1 RC passage on a daily basis. Review your attempts, see where you are going wrong and try to improve on that. If there are vocabulary-based questions, try to attempt those first.
- When answering fillers and cloze test, guess the option which comes to your mind. If that option is there, that’s most likely the right answer. If this doesn’t work out, try the elimination method. Also, remember that vocabulary is going to play a crucial role in answering fill in the blanks and cloze test questions. Keep practicing and analyzing your attempts.
- Grammar is going to be the most important tool to tackle Phrase Replacement questions. But solve at least 50 phrase replacement questions in this duration.
- Try to figure out the connection when solving parajumbles. Once again, only practice can gain you perfection in parajumbles. Check these tips.
- To answer questions based on correct usage of words, you need to do a lot of practice. Only practice can improve your performance in this topic.
Computer Knowledge
If you memorize the questions in this topic, you will be able to answer them quickly and with accuracy in the exam. This way, if properly prepared, this section can fetch you a lot of marks. Ensure that you revise these topics:

- This is another section where you don’t need to do any calculations. You just need to recall the answer and you can bag the marks.
- A majority of the questions are from current affairs. Ensure that you thoroughly revise the current affairs from the CA Capsule PDFs.
- Some questions are asked from Static GK as well. Don’t ignore this part and revise it from these Free Static GK PDFs.
- Sometimes, Banking Awareness questions are also asked. You can revise these topics from these PDFs.
- Take Current Affairs Quizzess on a regular basis. This is a really good tool to keep assessing and updating your knowledge.
Quantitative Aptitude
- The first & foremost topics you should start practising is data interpretation. These days, a number of graphs and charts have come up viz. Line Graph, Bar Graph, Pie Chart; Tabular; Caselet; Mixed DI, Radar Table, Funnel based DI. Practice at least 1 DI question in a day. See if you are getting the answers right or not. Dive deep and do the root-cause analysis.
- Your next bet should be on simplification and approximation questions. These questions are easy to answer, scoring and take less time. And if you practise enough, you can answer these questions without picking your pen.
- Number series questions don’t have any fixed rule per se. The more you practise, the more accurately (& speedily) you can answer these questions.
- Some aspirants perceive quadratic equation questions as difficult. But if the concept is understood properly, these are actually easy questions. If you solve them in less time, it would only add to your score.
- Be cautious about data sufficiency questions. These questions tend to seem easy but can carry quite a punch. Evaluate all the options before answering these questions.
