Reserve Bank of India has released the RBI Grade B Notification 2024 to fill 94 posts vacant in the General, DEPR, and DSIM departments of the bank. The RBI Grade B Online Application will start on 25th July 2024 and the RBI Grade B phase 1 exam will be conducted from the second week of September 2024. The RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024 includes the three stages. These stages include Preliminary Examination (Tier 1), Main Examination (Tier 2), and Interview. Candidates who clear the Phase 1 exam get the opportunity to appear for the Phase 2 exam. Candidates who clear both stages are called for an Interview round, which is Phase 3 of the exam. Phase 3 is more of a personality test.

RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024 Phase 1

Ther Phase 1 exam of the RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024 is the first stage of the RBI Grade B exam. The RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024 Tier 1 is a qualifying exam. The RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024 Phase 1 is an important stage as it screens candidates for the next level or stage. The cut-off marks of Phase 1 exam vary each year, based on the difficulty level and number of RBI Grade B applicants. The Phase 1 exam plays an important role in RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024 for reaching the Phase 2 stage.  As per the RBI Grade B Selection Process, the Phase I (Prelims Exam) tests candidates’ knowledge of 4 subjects: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness, and English. The total duration of the exam is 120 minutes. There will also be a sectional timing and a negative marking scheme. 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer given. The candidates must clear this stage to proceed to Phase 2 exam.

RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024 Phase 2

The Phase 2 of the RBI Grade B selection process 2024 is the mains exam stage. It includes both objective and descriptive tests. The exam pattern of RBI Grade B Phase II of the RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024 consists of three papers. Paper I, which is Economic and Social Issues, is divided into two parts. One part is 50% objective having 30 questions to be answered in 30 minutes, and the other is 50% descriptive having 4 questions to be answered in 90 minutes. Each part carries a total of 50 marks. Paper II is English, which tests candidates’ writing skills. It is entirely descriptive, having 3 questions to be answered in 90 minutes for a total of 100 marks. Lastly, Paper III, which is General Finance & Management, also has two parts. The first part is 50% objective having 30 questions to be answered in 120 minutes. The second part is 50% descriptive having 4 questions. Each part carries a total of 50 marks. The objective tests cover finance and management, economic and social issues, and the English language. Descriptive tests evaluate candidates’ writing skills.

RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024 Interview

The interview is the last and the final stage of the RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024. This stage entertains only those candidates who clear the RBI Grade B Phase 2 exam. The candidates who will appear in the interview stage will have a total of 75 marks and they can opt for either Hindi or English, as a medium of the test. A good score in the interview stage of the RBI Grade B selection process increases the chances of candidates appearing in the final merit list.

RBI Grade B Number of Attempts

RBI Grade B aspirants should also know about the total number of attempts that RBI allows for taking RBI Grade B exam. The understanding of the number of attempts is also an important part of the RBI Grade B Selection Process 2024. The Reserve Bank of India kept a limit on the number of attempts for candidates appearing in the RBI Grade B exam. Therefore, The RBI Grade B number of attempts, for General candidates, is 6 times. So, those RBI Grade B aspirants from General category for whom this is the 6th and final attempt should prepare with full dedication because they will not get another chance to take the exam after this. On the other hand, there is no limit on the total number of attempts for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories. Candidates should also keep in mind the Eligibility Criteria along with it.
