How to Prepare for RBI Grade B Exam 2023 Without Coaching?

RBI Grade B Phase-I is qualifying in nature. The scores in RBI Grade B Phase-II and Interview are considered for the final merit. Here are the tips and tricks that you need to follow to perform well in the upcoming exam and achieve your goals:

1. Read previous year’s questions

Read previous year’s questions. Get familiarized with the pattern of examination and understand the expectations, and gather good quality study material, which does not overwhelm you.

2. Take a look at previous year cutoffs

Take a look at the previous year’s papers and analyze what kind of questions was asked in the paper. It will help you in determining the depth of each subject that you should prepare for.

3. Solve at least one previous year’s paper

Try to solve at least one previous year’s paper. It will help you in analyzing your strengths and weaknesses. And what amount of effort you need to improve further. It will also help you in determining whether you need coaching or you can self-study.

4. Make realistic study Plans

Make study plans targeting your long-term and short-term goals. These study plans should be Month-wise, week-wise, day-wise, and hour-wise.

5. Month and week-wise study plan

Don’t get scared by thinking of a month-long plan. Just have a rough idea of what you’ll cover in a month. For instance, the Phase-II syllabus will need an entire month for complete preparation. To make it easy, divide the syllabus week-wise. Do revision on the weekends.

6. Day and Hour-wise study plan

Your day and hour-wise study plan must focus on subtopics that need to be covered on a particular day. Begin your day by reading current affairs via newspapers or videos on YouTube or your preferred source. Have a proper and written routine that can guide you on what to do and when.  Then, break your day into time slots into hours. 6-8 hours of study a day at the beginning of starting your preparation is going to bring great results.

7. Solve Full mock test

Full-length Mock Tests must be solved after you’ve covered at least 70% of the entire syllabus. Analyze the result properly. Learn from mistakes and repeat the process.

Mock-test before 3 weeks of the Exam: Start taking Mock Tests when there are only 3 weeks left for RBI Grade B prelims. Don’t forget that there is a sectional cutoff in the Prelims that you need to qualify to get into the final merit. In addition, try to solve full-length mock tests as much as you can, in the stipulated time. Try to complete the test in one go. Make sure the Test conditions are similar to what you’ll be facing during the actual Exam time.

Analyze the mock test: After every Mock Test, try your best to analyze your result. Do it with care! Find your weaknesses, and if you find you need to clear a concept, then you should learn that new concept. This will only make your answers accurate and improve your timing.
