Understanding LPT (Language Proficiency Test)
The state for which you are applying, plays an important role in your application. The number of vacancies in state matters, but what matters more is the LPT (Language Proficiency Test) factor. Clarify all your doubts related to LPT in this article so that you can smoothly appear in this last leg of RBI Asst. 2022 recruitment process. As per the official notification, The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main on-line examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned as detailed below). Candidate not proficient in the Official / Local Language shall be disqualified.
LPT is Mandatory and is Qualifying in Nature
The last highlighted part is very important. It simply means that even though you show your competence by clearing Prelims & Mains exam, if you are unable to clear LPT, you will be disqualified. This is what makes the Language Proficiency Test so important. The notification further states, LPT is mandatory. No exemption of any sort will be given to any candidate from appearing in LPT, which will be conducted at respective Offices of the Bank. Final Selection will depend, on the performance in online test, qualifying in LPT, Medical fitness, verification of certificates, Biometric Data, etc. to the Bank’s satisfaction. Decision of the Bank in this regard, shall be final. Biometric verification and LPT are qualifying in nature and the final selection will only be based on performance in main on-line examination.
However, the positive aspect is that LPT is qualifying in nature. That means you just need to pass the test. We assume that you would have applied for that state, the language of which you would be sufficiently comfortable with.
