RBI Assistant Exam Pattern & Preparation Strategy

RBI Assistant is one of the prestigious exams. RBI has very limited offices and hold a smaller number of vacancies and out of these smaller number of vacancies most of the vacancies are in Maharashtra so for other state people the vacancies are even lesser & that makes the competition even tougher but the candidates preparing in a systematic manner with consistency will be able to crack the exam and get it into Reserve Bank of India. The first step to prepare is to understand the syllabus thoroughly and prepare a study plan for effective preparation.

RBI Assistant: Prelims Exam Pattern

The RBI Assistant preliminary exam pattern is divided into three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The preliminary exam question paper contains a total of 100 questions. The test is worth a maximum of 100 points. The mains exam is divided into four sections and contains a total of 200 questions. The exam is worth a maximum of 200 points.

Candidates must take the Language Proficiency Test after passing the mains exam (LPT). The exam is given in the state’s official/local language.

RBI Assistant: Mains Exam Pattern

1). There will be 200 questions divided into five sections: English, Quantitative Aptitude, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, and Reasoning Ability.
2). The RBI Assistant Mains Examination lasts 135 minutes. The timing for each section is listed below.
3). There will be a 0.25-point deduction for each incorrect answer, but no deduction for unanswered questions.
4). The questions will be of the Objective variety.
5). Other sections, with the exception of English Language, will be in English and Hindi.
6). Candidates who pass the Mains Exam will be invited to take the Language Proficiency Test, and their scores will be used to compile the merit list.

RBI Assistant: Language Proficiency Test

Candidates who are provisionally selected from the main online examination will be required to take a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be administered in the Official / Local Language of the State in question, as specified below. Candidates who are unable to communicate in the official/local language will be disqualified.

Only candidates with sufficiently high merit based on the aggregate marks of the main online examination will be called for the Language Proficiency Test. Such merit will be determined by the Bank in relation to the number of notified vacancies to be filled.

RBI Assistant: Preparation Strategy

  • Analyzing RBI Assistant Selection Process 2023– Candidates are expected to go through a three-stage RBI Assistant Selection Process 2023, which includes a preliminary exam, a main exam, and a language proficiency test. The RBI Prelims is a 100-mark qualifying stage, and the Mains is a 200-mark stage that shortlists candidates for final selection via a state-by-state Proficiency Test. Candidates must only take the online test once to be considered for a position at RBI. Aspirants must obtain the minimum RBI Assistant Cut-Off 2023 marks in each section and overall. Candidates must prepare for this exam to a high level and with a specific goal in mind.

    • Reading comprehension is the most time-consuming topic of all, and you must have high accuracy to do well on it. It is possible to ask for a maximum of 10 points.   • Grammar section comprises of error spotting and phrase replacement for the most part. They also carry a combined maximum of 10 points. In this topic, questions about Articles, Tenses, Prepositions, Parallelism, Subject-Verb Agreement, Degrees of Comparison, Sentence Correction, Adverbs, Phrasal Verbs, Pronouns, Non-Finite Verbs, and Common Errors, among other things, can be asked.
  • This topic will have a maximum of 10 questions in vocabulary based on Phrase Replacement, Fill in the Blanks, and fillers type questions. These questions are usually answered quickly and are based on contextual usage.
  • Based on Para Jumbles, you can expect 5 questions on this topic. They are simpler to solve and take less time.
  • Depending on the questions asked in RC, you can expect 5-10 questions on the Cloze Test. If the RC is worth 10 points, the Cloze Test will be worth 5-10 points, and if the RC is worth 7 points, the Cloze Test will be worth 8 points. Before answering the question, you must carefully examine the prepositions given in the options before/after the blank, as they all have similar meanings.
  • RBI Assistant Preparation tips for Numerical Ability-
  • Simplification/Approximation: This topic will contain 10 questions based on the BODMAS Rule, Approximation, Decimals, Fractions, Surds & Indices, Percentages, and so on. These questions are simple to answer and take less time. So, with some practise, you should be able to do well on this topic.
  • Data Interpretation: Data Interpretation is a key topic in Numerical Ability that is moderately time-consuming and difficult. Expect 5-10 questions based on line graphs, bar graphs, pie charts, tables, tabular graphs, and so on.
  • Number Series: You can expect 5 questions based on completing the Number Series, identifying problems related to Missing Term, Wrong Term, and so on. You can get good grades in this topic if you practise.
  • RBI Assistant Preparation tips for Reasoning Ability-
  • Arrangements and Patterns: This topic will have 5 questions based on Random Sequence of Alphabets, Number Arrangements, and so on. These are less time-consuming and moderately difficult questions. Try to do them first so you have enough time for the difficult ones later.
  • Mathematical Inequalities: The questions in Inequality are statement-based, and they are simple to solve if all of the steps are followed correctly. On this subject, you can expect 5 questions.
  • Syllogisms: The Syllogism topic will include 5 questions based on Statements and Conclusions. They will also take less time if you have practiced well during your preparations. These questions are quick to answer once the logic is clear.
