Note:

  • The above online test/s except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.
  • Candidates will have to pass in each of the objective tests of the online examinations.
  • A candidate has to qualify in Preliminary Examination for appearing in Main Examination.
  • There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests (Preliminary examination). 1/4th marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.

You must have noticed that there are 30 questions of 30 marks in the RBI Assistant English Language section which need to be answered in 20 minutes. That means you have around 40 seconds for each question. So when you do practice via mock tests, time your performance and see how many questions are you able to solve in 20 minutes. Try to increase your speed without compromising on your accuracy. When you take Prelims Mocks, your weak areas will be highlighted. Start putting more effort towards improving your weak areas. Start with picking one topic at a time and understand the basics. Watch videos on Youtube or take the help of some good books for this. Once you’re thorough with the basics, start solving a lot of questions on each topic. Keep an eye out for the mistakes which you’re committing and try not to repeat those. Start practising mock tests and take out some time for the analysis once you’ve submitted the mock test. Doing this will definitely help in your preparation.

Tips for RBI Assistant English Section

  • To improve your vocabulary, this is the best time. Make use of our vocabulary articles which is updated with new words on a daily basis. Make flashcards and revise the words on a daily basis.
  • Improve your reading speed. This will help you in RC, Cloze Test etc.
  • While attempting RC, try reading the questions first and then read the passage. You can try vice versa as well and see which technique works best for you.
  • Revise & put into practice all the grammar rules. These rules will be helpful in sentence re-arrangement, idioms & phrases, error spotting & sentence correction.
  • If any question is taking more than a minute, you can move to the next question and revisit that question in the end (provided you have spare time).
  • Practice as many RBI Assistant Prelims Mocks as you can. There is no substitute to practice.
