RBI Assistant 2023 Exam Pattern

The RBI Assistant Exam will be conducted in two stages:

  1. Preliminary
  2. Mains

RBI Assistant Prelims Exam Pattern 2023 – (Phase 1)

RBI Assistant Mains Exam Pattern 2023 – (Phase 2)

The candidates who qualify in the Preliminary examination are called for the Mains examination. The Mains exam tests candidates based on 5 subjects. Out of these 5 subjects, 3 are the same as the Prelims exam with a difference in difficulty level and 2 are new subjects. The total number of questions asked in the RBI Assistant Mains examination is 200, where each question carries 1 mark and ¼ marks are deducted for incorrect attempts. The mode of the examination is online and the duration is 135 minutes. There will be a sectional cut-off for the main examination as well. RBI Assistant 2023-Section-wise Preparation Tips

A candidate cannot just clear the exam just by knowing exam patternsand by having the best study material if one doesn’t know how to prepare for the exam. Seeing the difficulty level of the exam, it is essential to prepare in a strategical way.

1. Reasoning

The Reasoning section is a part of both Prelims and Mains. The Prelims contain 35 questions of 35 Marks (1 mark each), whereas the Mains exam has 40 questions of 40 Marks (1 mark each). It tests a candidate’s analytical and logical skills. 2. Numerical Ability (Quantitative Aptitude)

The Quantitative Aptitude section is also part of both Prelims and Mains exams. 3. English Language

The English section is also part of both the Prelims and mains exam. The Prelims exam tests the candidates with 30 questions of 30 Marks (1 mark each) and the Mains exam sees 40 questions of a total of 40 marks (1 mark each). This section focuses on grammar, vocabulary (synonyms & antonyms), error-detection, cloze test, para-jumbles, idioms, phrases, reading comprehension, fill in the blanks, etc. To fetch maximum marks in this section, the candidate needs to develop a habit of reading the newspaper every day. Newspaper is the best and the cheapest source of not just the latest events but also helps in improving vocabulary, grammar as well as the syntax. So, the candidates must learn at least 20 new words a day, go through all the basic grammar rules and practice them in everyday conversation and writing.

4. General Awareness

You should read two newspapers daily, one general and one of business, like, The Hindu & Economic Times, etc. There are also multiple sources online where you can read daily current affairs. These updates will ensure that you have gone through all the important news. You should also read a magazine dedicated to the current affairs of the last 6 months at least. Make notes, important points and do regular revision.
