Punjab State Cooperative Bank Clerk Exam 2021: If you look at the syllabus of the PSCB Clerk you might feel overwhelmed because there are six subjects you need to prepare to crack this exam in one single round. And all the subjects are important and each subject is allocated about 15% weightage.
When the total marks are 100 and each subject carries 15% marks it becomes difficult to prioritise or neglect any of the subjects.
Verbal or Non-Verbal reasoning is one of those subjects which aspirants either love or hate. Well, it doesn’t matter if you like the subject or not; you will have to accept the fact that you can’t compromise reasoning when you know it can turn out to be a high scoring subject in this exam.
The truth about reasoning is that it can look tough but with conceptual learning and enough practice one can become friends with reasoning.
Verbal Number Series – Alphabet Series, Test of Direction Sense, Coding-Decoding, Number Ranking, Arithmetical Reasoning, Problem on Age Calculation, Blood Relations, Analogy, Decision Making, etc.
Non-Verbal – Non-Verbal Series, Mirror Images, Cubes and Dice, Grouping Identical Figures, Embedded Figures, etc.
Most people directly jump at the questions without conceptual learning. And that’s where they compromise and face issues with the subject as they move ahead. Students start blaming the subject but what they fail to understand is that the complexities were developed from their end. This is why you need to focus on the actual concepts.
For you to master reasoning you will have to devote time. Don’t expect results way too quickly. If you want a smooth ride then don’t push the accelerator all at once. Start slow and follow the proven path.
It is natural for anyone to have some difficulties or to not like any particular topic. But if you keep avoiding such topics then you will gradually enter a phase where you won’t even try to study them in the future. You will convince your mind for doing so by giving pseudo excuses.
Pick up any verbal or non-verbal question you will find that the question always tests your ability to recognize patterns, observational skills, and also your visualization skills.
Questions given have unusual turns and events which eventually makes them tricky or fascinating. Now, how does one develop such skills? It’s simple. Try solving as many questions as you want. That’s the only way to do it. After doing a plethora of questions your brain will start to subconsciously recognize patterns or tricks for solving the questions.
This is a book highly known for cracking the reasoning section for PSCB Clerk 2021. It has got a wide range of questions for you to practice daily. Many topics such as coding-decoding, puzzles, and seating arrangements are covered very well in this book. You can buy this on Amazon.
The best and the only way to track your reasoning section performance is by signing up for free mock tests. The reasoning is not just about solving questions and choosing the right answers from the options given. The real struggle is to get the right answer within an acceptable time frame. In order for you to marry both speed and accuracy, you will have to make mock test your best man for the wedding.
If you are somebody who intentionally doesn’t solve hard questions or skips certain topics then it is impossible for you to crack this exam. If you only revisit questions that you have solved earlier or you are comfortable solving then you are just basically skipping the syllabus.
In order to break this chain, you will have to start solving tough questions. If you struggle with them, you can always take help. Revise concepts again and take them slowly.
The reasoning questions can be very high scoring only if you decide to become friends with them. Speed and accuracy will be a game of practice and regular mock tests. And in the end, it’s all about making the right choices.
