Distance and Directions
All the topics, this one is the simplest and highest scoring. Carefully read the statements. One facet at a time, with diagrams as you go. Assume you are looking North while you draw your diagrams.
Blood Relations
Making flow chart-style diagrams and reading the information provided in the question can both aid in arriving at the right answer.
Analogy
Here, you must determine the connections between two components and determine the missing component’s connection to the other components. Most of this is based on common sense. General knowledge is sometimes required as well. However, if you don’t practice a significant number of questions of varying difficulty levels, the questions may appear to be confusing.
Order & Ranking
Here, the person’s rank or position must be calculated from top to bottom or left to right, or the rank or position will be provided, and you must establish the total number of students or row members. There aren’t many formulas for answering issues of this nature. You must read the theory, though, in order to know which formulas to use and when Drawing diagrams might be helpful as well.
Alphanumeric Series
Finding the pattern in a particular series is the key to this. You must develop the ability to look at every detail and identify any trends or patterns. Practice is the only way to become an expert at it.
Mathematical / Coded Inequalities
If you can teach yourself to maintain your focus while answering questions of this nature, this is truly a simple subject. Making a table and figuring out what each of the symbols signifies from the provided symbols is the best approach. Rewrite the relationships as supplied using the symbols that have been decoded. Thirdly, you must combine all the linkages to create a combined statement from which it is simple to draw inferences.
Coding-Decoding
Once more, one must recognize the pattern here—the connection between a particular word and its encoded equivalent. Once it has been determined, the questions are simple to answer. Be sure to take into account, for instance, how a letter in one place in a word relates to a letter in the same position in the encoded word (for example, the encoded letters may be the next or previous letter of the one in the actual word). The more you practice, the more adept you get at considering every possibility.
Circular and Linear Seating Arrangements
There is no short way to answer inquiries of this nature. To learn this subject, you must draw diagrams as you practice, and you must practice a lot.
Syllogism
You must first understand the theory in this case. In order to answer issues of this nature, you must also understand how to use Venn Diagrams. There are further strategies as well.
Data Sufficiency / Puzzles
These may be based on any of the aforementioned subjects. These are all about critical and analytical thinking, as the names suggest. Depending on the sort of questions posed, you must choose your strategy.
Decision Making, Assertion, and Reasoning, Statement and Argument/ Conclusion/Assumption
These depend on your capacity for rational thought. Most of the time, the solution will appear straightforward, yet all of the potential solutions will make sense. In order to become proficient in making the proper choice, justification, argument, or assumption, you must practice answering a significant number of questions.
