NIACL AO English Strategy: The English subject is what most candidates struggle with. In NIACL AO, you can’t progress without being good at English language as seats are way too limited. There is no point whatsoever in leaving certain topics which doesn’t interest or bring uneasiness to you. The mindest of an aspirant should always encompass the chasing of challenging aspects of the preparation. You need to grow to make it to the finishing line. Avoiding challenges won’t do all that.
Most of us only rely on the reference material provided to us by coaching centers or to something which we must have bought online. This is not a criticism of any study material but the criticism of preparing in your comfort zone. You need to make English a part of your life. Unless, you don’t do that there is no point preparing. The same is being expected by the examiner if you think it through. How does one make English a part of their life?
The goal is to get naturally good at English. Read newspapers and online articles written in English, watch interviews, English news channels, etc.
Some of us think we know English but the reality leaves us baffled when we give a simple test or see how we struggled to write even a simple 200 word letter. So, it is ideal to take sectional tests for becoming of how much improvement is needed over time.
Becoming too self aware of how weak are you at English can backfire. You will slowly sccumb to the pressure which should have been avoided. This happens because we want to get things done fast. Well, learning a language takes time and you will have to be patient. Rewards will reap
Don’t forget about practicing English as you practice for other subjects. Keep a balance between all of them and as per the expertise you have for each one of them.
Don’t delay your English preparations. Follow a balanced approach till the very end. Focus on all aspects of English such as vocabulary building, para jumbles, cloze test, fillers, passage, etc. Sooner or later, you will start to enjoy learning English as it happens with any other language as well. The key is to not be afraid of it.
