NABARD Grade A Phase I Exam Pattern

There are seven sections in this exam comprising of a total 200 marks. This phase has both sectional as well as overall cut-offs and is a qualifying stage.

As you can see from the exam pattern that there are special sections in NABARD Grade A exam which are Economic & Social Issues and Agriculture & Rural Development respectively. Moreover, these two sections carry the most weightage in respect to the other sections so giving importance to these should be of prime concern.

During the course of your NABARD Grade A 2023 Phase I try and manage to study for at least 3 hours a day and try to devote even more time during weekends.

  • During weekends one should dedicate their time solely towards preparing for the sections Agricultural and Rural Development; Economic and Social Issues. Preparing notes while studying is important as it gives you an edge above other aspirants especially during the time of revision.
  • Don’t underestimate the importance of mock tests. Aspirants must take mock tests every alternate day and need to analyse it properly. Analysing a mock test is equally important as taking it.
  • Try and complete the syllabus for both Agricultural and Rural Development and Economic and Social Issues.

Though Agricultural and Rural Development and Economic and Social Issues are important topics, but one must not forget about other sections too including General Awareness and Computer Knowledge. As far as the preparation strategy for the last week specifically before the exam is concerned try and follow the below mentioned schedule:

Day 1: Plan to study Current Affairs for at least 2 months. Basically, as far as current affairs are concerned aspirants must cover current affairs of 4 to 6 months before the NABARD Grade A 2023 exam.

Day 2: Current Affairs for remaining months depending upon what all months you have already covered.

Day 3: Current Affairs – Static Banking and Banking affairs for last 4 months.

Day 4: Current Affairs – Static GK

Day 5: Computer Basics

Day 6: Revise Agricultural and Rural Development from the notes you created

Day 7:  Revise Economic and Social Issues

  • Cover chapters on Agriculture and Rural sector in this year’s Economic Survey.
  • Allocation towards Agriculture and Rural sector and the schemes for the aforesaid in last years’ Union Budget.
  • One should know about the role of NABARD in Agriculture and Rural Financing, Rural Banking and Rural Development.
  • Relevant articles in Kurukshetra and Yojana magazines of last six months are to be read.
  • Read relevant chapters of India (2018) book.

These can be divided into three parts:

  • Social Issues – Topics such as Population, Unemployment and Poverty can be covered from Class XI Economics NCERT book.
  • Current Economic and Social Issues – Union Budget, Economic Survey, Kurukshetra/Yojana magazines, Indian Economy edition of Pratoyogita Darpan and India (2018) book.
